Prince Harry’s Feud With Prince William Began Years Before He & Meghan Moved to the US

Prince Harry and Prince William seemed to be on the outs just before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex officially announced they were moving to the United States and stepping away from their jobs as senior working royals. But as it turns out, their fight began long before that — we're talking more than a year, according to one royal expert who's sharing his take in a new book about the estranged brothers.

Harry and William's fight reportedly began in October 2018.

As royal expert Robert Lacey wrote in his book Battle of the Brothers, just months after Harry and Meghan tied the knot, he and his big brother were no longer on speaking terms — and apparently, the way Meghan was being viewed was enough to convince will to try to "throw Harry out."

The root of the feud all led back to Meghan.

"Meghan portrayed herself as the victim, but she was the bully. People felt run over by her," the royal expert writes, via InStyle. "They thought she was a complete narcissist and sociopath — basically unhinged."

This would have been around the time Meghan was accused of bullying royal staff.

This isn't the first we've heard of Will not being a fan of Meghan.

In Harry's memoir, Spare, he wrote about a time when Will confronted Harry at Frogmore Cottage in 2019, accusing Meghan of being "abrasive" and "difficult." It was then that the fight between the brothers turned physical, and William knocked Harry "to the floor."

Things don't seem to be getting any better between the brothers.

Recently, royal expert Jennie Bond told OK Magazine (via The Mirror) that she doesn't believe the Prince of Wales will even invite Harry to his future coronation.

"You can only go to a coronation if you are invited and, at this stage, I suspect Harry would not be invited. However, that day is hopefully someway away and it's possible that William's attitude may have softened somewhat by then," she said.

The next time Harry and William see each other may be Charles' funeral.

"I agree it would be unthinkable that Harry would not be at his own father's funeral," Bond said. "We have seen how he can attend state occasions without interacting with his family. Only time will tell whether that will still be the case when the day comes."

Here's hoping Will and Harry are able to make up long before that day comes.
