Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be well-versed in royal etiquette, but apparently, that politeness doesn't translate to their neighbors. In fact, one man is accusing Harry and Meghan of snubbing him when they lived next door in Montecito, and if this story is true, they're not earning a good reputation with their community …

It all started when a neighbor tried to welcome them to the area with a gift.

As 88-year-old veteran Frank McGinty wrote in his memoir, Get Off Your Street, he lives in the guest house of the property next door to Meghan and Harry's home and rents out the main house on Airbnb. When he saw they moved in, he went over to welcome them with some films he'd made about the history of their community, but it didn't go quite as he imagined it would.
He was turned away at the gate.

As McGinty tells it, the royal couple wanted nothing to do with him.
"The gate guy turned me away and wouldn’t take the film, just saying 'they’re not interested.' I was trying to be neighborly," he wrote in his book, via The Independent.
Their neighbor is surprised they moved to the neighborhood at all.

"We don’t see them very much around here. It’s surprising they came here. People are typically older. It’s where the elephants come to die," he wrote.
Harry and Meghan might still be young, but they do value their privacy, which might have been truly what brought them to their $14.6 million estate in this quiet corner of California.

This intel comes at an interesting time.

Earlier this week, a source told Express that Harry and Meghan are reportedly thinking about moving to Malibu so they'll be closer to Los Angeles.
"It is uncertain if they will sell Montecito or just add a Malibu spot to buy. The move consideration comes as Meghan is shifting gears and focus back to Hollywood with WME," the insider said.
It seems like this might be a year of changes for the couple.
Now that they're officially moved out of Frogmore Cottage and the coronation is behind them, they don't have any reason to return to the UK anytime soon — and Meghan and Harry seem like the type of couple who want to make big moves. Who knows what the next few months could hold?
