It sounds like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Archewell Foundation may be facing a bit of trouble. As of earlier this month — and possibly longer — the foundation has been declared "delinquent," which means Archewell has been ordered not to raise or to spend any money. This could be an issue with paperwork or it could be a sign of something much bigger. Are they getting ready to shut down the foundation altogether?

The charity's registration fees were due recently.

According to an official letter from California’s attorney general, Rob Bonta, that was obtained by Page Six, Meghan and Harry were due to pay registration fees on Archewell recently. But they've let the registration lapse since at least early May — yikes!
The charity has now been listed as 'delinquent.'
The letter explains: “An organization that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds. The organization may also be subject to penalties and its registration may be suspended or revoked by the Registry."
This effectively stops Archewell from going forward with any plans it may have in progress, which sounds stressful for Harry and Meghan (to say the least).
The foundation reportedly filed for an extension.

But as a source later told Page Six, a check that was sent to the attorney general's office was never received, so a new one has been issued and sent. After this is all straightened out, it appears Archewell may be able to return to business as usual.

The couple has talked about plans for Archewell as recently as this week.

During their trip to Nigeria this week, Meghan and Harry revealed that Archewell would be expanding its partnership with the GEANCO Foundation. It will now provide mental health services and training to young men and women, along with continuing its project that provides menstrual products to women in the region.
It doesn't look like Archewell is going anywhere.
At least, not according to the plans that Meghan and Harry are continuing to make for their foundation.
Still, there's no doubt that this slip-up may have caused a bit of a headache for those who work with Archewell. They probably won't let this happen again!
