Prince Louis Is Missing His 2 Front Teeth in Seventh Birthday Portrait

Every time one of Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s children celebrates a birthday, we get to look forward to seeing an updated portrait of their kiddo to mark the new year. Usually, the photos are snapped by Kate, who is a pretty talented photographer, but when Prince Louis turned 7 on April 23, the royals decided to go a different direction.

In the photo shared on his parents’ official Instagram account, Louis is dressed casually in a sweater and jeans as he sits on a tree stump outside, grinning from ear to ear. It’s hard to believe he’s already so grown up.

But what’s most notable about his newest portrait? Louis is missing his two front teeth – just like a lot of kids his age – and he looks even more adorable for it!

“Wishing Prince Louis a very Happy 7th Birthday! 🎂,” the caption read.

Photographer Josh Shinner was tagged in the post. He’s no stranger to the Wales family; as People notes, he has also taken photos of the royals in the past, including the black and white family photo that Will and Kate used for their 2023 Christmas card.

The comments of the post are filled with warm wishes for Louis as he grows another year older and plenty of comments about how strong the Middleton genes are with this one.

“So so grown up, happy birthday Prince Louis – look forward to seeing many more cheeky escapades,” one person wrote.

Speaking of Louis’ cheeky escapades, the royals also shared a video of Louis that shows off his personality just a bit.

Running up to the camera for a close-up, talking about how he can jump from a tree stump, exploring the outdoors – that’s the Louis we know and love.

Happy birthday to Will and Kate’s youngest kiddo. They really do grow up in a blink of an eye.
