Prince William & Kate Middleton Wear Practically Matching Outfits to Their Latest Outing

No, you're not seeing double — Prince William and Kate Middleton appeared keen to present a united front on Thursday for a royal engagement in Liverpool … literally. The Prince and Princess of Wales wore ridiculously coordinated outfits to the outing, making us wonder if this week's media storm had any influence over their ensembles.

The theme was blue and green as they greeted health care workers.

William braced for the windy weather in a blue suit with a hunter green sweater. The jumper was worn over a light-colored button-up, and the collar could be seen poking out the top.

Kate was also dressed to fend off the chill, wearing a blue and green plaid jacket over a long, blue sweater dress.

They were stepping out to celebrate those who work on the front lines of the UK's health care services.

The royals were in town to highlight some of the hard work being done by medical professionals as they faced a harsh winter of illness around the commonwealth.

People magazine reported that all their good work was almost derailed when onlookers gathered outside of Royal Liverpool University Hospital, shouting questions about their reaction to Harry's new book, which was probably the last thing either of them wanted to discuss at that moment.

The Wales' wardrobe choices were well-documented by the people who gathered to say hello.

Kate and William's attitudes were just as lockstep as their fashion choices, and they both cheerfully posed for selfies and warmly greeted onlookers.

"They were so welcoming. They were so warm and friendly," imaging technician Amber Otto revealed via People. "Even when they were being rushed out, they made sure they made time for everybody."

King Charles was also wearing plaid on Thursday.

We can't help but wonder if there was a memo sent to the high-ranking members of the royal family to trot out their favorite plaids on Thursday, because the king was also seen wearing some during his visit to Aboyne and Mid Deeside Community Shed in Aboyne, Aberdeenshire, in Scotland.

What's not to love about a good themed ensemble?

It's likely that we'll see a whole lot more of William and Kate this week.

Not only are Kate and William up against the fallout from Harry's memoir, Spare, but Kate is also dealing with some backlash over just how many hours she put in last year. The princess was outed as having some of the fewest working hours in the royal family, with just 90 appearances under her belt in 2022.

Either way, we're glad to see the pair was all smiles today as they got to work.
