Prince William has never claimed to be Queen Camilla‘s biggest fan, but is he willing to go so far as to kick her out of the royal family? There’s a bizarre rumor that William is planning to push her out as soon as King Charles is dead, but royal watchers aren’t convinced there’s any truth to it.
However, there have been reports lately that claim that William is on the outs with multiple members of his family…
The rumor claims that the royals are closing ranks against Camilla.
A post on Reddit brought up something that someone said in a comment on a recent New York Times article about the royals. It’s more of a theory than a rumor, really, but at least one person believes that recent events are adding up to show that Camilla is being pushed out of the royal family.
“Word has it that events over the past year — Prince William’s involvement in the recovery of Princess Diana’s jewels ‘borrowed’ from their safekeeping by the Crown by the woman King Charles married, and Princess Catherine’s going to war with that same woman over that woman’s repeated attempts to interfere with protocol vis-a-vis Prince George — and the king having to formally distance himself from his wife as a result, helped pave the way for Harry’s visit,” the commenter said.
They added, “I sadly suspect bad news on the king’s health front may not be far off.”
All of this is pure speculation, of course. But if the king is sicker than he lets on (hence Meghan and Harry’s surprise move back to the UK), could the other royals be pulling together a plan to “demote” Camilla once William is on the throne?
People don’t seem convinced that William is really plotting against his stepmother.
“This all sounds like nonsense. Just trying to make Kate sound better before HRH Meaghan comes back,” one person wrote in response to the theory.
Others don’t believe Charles would ever let anything get in the way of his relationship with Camilla, as he’s proven in the past.
“I hate Camilla, but Charles is absolutely never going to turn on her. She is his lifetime ride or die. He blew up his marriage for her,” one person wrote. “Charles would choose Camilla over both of his children and their entire families. It’s always been his world. The rest of them are just living in it.”
Could that hold up after Charles dies, though?
A new report claims William is feuding with Camilla, among other members of the royal family.
According to what British broadcaster Ian Pelham Turner told the Daily Express, William and Camilla are butting heads now more than ever because she and Charles appear to be welcoming Harry back into the royal fold with open arms.
“There have been rumors that William has been at odds with his stepmother and the new book by Charles Spencer, Princess Diana’s brother, about new revelations could light the royal furnace once more,” he said.
