Princess Charlotte Is Already ‘On Point’ With Royal Etiquette at Trooping the Colour

The late Queen Elizabeth would be very proud of great-granddaughter Princess Charlotte if only she could see her today. On Saturday, the royal family celebrated their Trooping the Colour tradition on the Buckingham Palace balcony as they do every year, but this time, Charlotte was the one who stood out among her siblings. As far as we can tell, the 11-year-old was definitely made for the royal life.

Trooping the Colour was held on June 13.

Every summer, the royal family appears on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during a military parade that is meant as the official celebration of the current monarch’s birthday (even though King Charlesactual birthday isn’t until November 14).

Now that all of Kate Middleton and Prince William‘s children are old enough to participate, they’re always seen on the balcony alongside their parents, and though Prince Louis typically snags the spotlight for himself with his cheeky behavior, this time around, all eyes were on his big sister.

When it comes to royal etiquette, Charlotte is a total natural.

In a video that’s making the rounds on X, Charlotte can be seen taking the tradition very seriously. Even though the rest of the family around her is chatting and having a good time, royal duty clearly comes first for this princess. From the moment that the national anthem, “God Save the King,” begins to play, Charlotte is all business, standing at attention several moments before the other royals get it together and join her.

It’s no surprise to see Charlotte acting this way. Ever since she was even younger, correctly following etiquette has always seemed to be important to her. She’s even been known to keep her brothers in line at events like this one!

Replies to the video were full of praise for her behavior and plenty of comments about what a great Princess Royal she’ll be someday. “She is the late Queen Elizabeth‘ mini-me. She got her grace, looks and discipline. She would make an excellent Queen. But I’m sure George will be up to the task as well,” one person wrote.

King Charles also seemed to show his appreciation for his granddaughter.

As Marie Claire pointed out, Charles accessorized with friendship bracelets for the occasion, which could be spotted on his wrist when he raised his arm.

Previously, William has shared that Charlotte loves making the bracelets for everyone in their family, so it’s really sweet to see that her grandfather showed off her creations. He must be so proud of her.
