The royal family is about to get a little bit bigger. On Tuesday morning, Princess Eugenie announced she's expecting her second child with husband Jack Brooksbank, sharing an adorable baby bump photo on her Instagram account in the process. This is so exciting!
Eugenie shared the news herself with an Instagram post.
In a sweet photo that Eugenie said was taken by Jack, we can see her son, August, smooching his mama's belly.
"We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer," she wrote in her caption.
The palace also shared a more formal announcement.
As reported by People, a statement from Buckingham Palace confirmed the happy news.
"Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce they are expecting their second child this summer. The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother," the statement read.
This is such an exciting time, especially for August.
Jack and Eugenie's first child — who they named August Philip Hawke Brooksbank — arrived in February 2021, which means he'll be celebrating his second birthday next month.
Rearing a newborn and a toddler at the same time will be a challenge, but we don't doubt that Eugenie is up for it!
So far, we don't have any details about Eugenie's baby-to-be.
Because she kept her announcement short and sweet, we have no idea when her due date is (other than sometime this summer) or if she knows if she's having a boy or a girl just yet.
Given that her sister, Princess Beatrice, welcomed a baby girl in September 2021, it looks like their family gatherings are going to be very busy indeed — but in the best way.

Jack and Eugenie typically keep their family life pretty private, so we wouldn't be surprised if we don't get any details about the baby until he or she has arrived.
