Priscilla Presley’s Request To Be Buried Next to Elvis Is Denied During Trust Negotiations

Now we know a little bit of what Priscilla Presley was forced to give up during negotiations with granddaughter Riley Keough. The two women recently squared off over the terms of Lisa Marie Presley's trust after months of squabbling over the details of her estate.

Priscilla apparently hoped to be laid to rest next to her ex-husband and requested a spot next to the "King of Rock 'n' Roll" at the very start of the trust talks. But sources told TMZ that the idea was immediately shot down without much pushback from Priscilla, who either understood why it couldn't be done or wasn't truly that dead set on spending all of eternity next to Elvis.

There's a major problem with the logistics.

Elvis is buried at his Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee, alongside several of his beloved family members. His parents are laid to rest on either side of him, and his grandson Benjamin and daughter Lisa Marie have been buried beside them. If Priscilla's wishes were granted, at least one of those caskets would have to be moved.

The bereaved mother said she still holds out hope that she'll be reunited with Lisa Marie.

Despite having her request denied, it sounds like Priscilla is still hoping to find another way to be buried near her late daughter.

"Although I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon, it is my family's and my wish for me to be laid to rest with my daughter and the love of my life when that time comes," she told TMZ.

Priscilla likely just wanted to get talks over with so she could secure her payday.

Priscilla stands to walk away with millions, according to sources, although neither side has confirmed any details other than the fact that a settlement has been reached.

"The parties would like to report that they've reached a settlement," Priscilla's attorney, Ronson J. Shamoun, told Page Six in a statement shortly after the terms were agreed upon. "The families are happy. Everyone is happy, unified, together, and excited for the future."

We may never know the exact terms of the settlement.

Entertainment Tonight reported that the lawyers have until June 14 to finalize the settlement before it gets sent to a judge, who is expected to make a ruling August 4. The lawyers have requested to seal the terms of the settlement, a move that would prevent the public from ever really knowing what went down behind closed doors.

Although we're definitely curious to hear more about how Priscilla and Riley finally managed to come to an agreement over Lisa Marie's trust, it's probably better for their relationship that the public doesn't learn too much about the back-and-forth negotiations that pitted the grandmother against her granddaughter so soon after Lisa Marie's death.
