Donald Trump‘s state visit to the U.K. is well underway after he and First Lady Melania Trump made their entrance at Windsor Castle on Wednesday, and now, one moment that played out early in the trip is making headlines. While greeting the Trumps, cameras appeared to capture a pretty awkward moment between Queen Camilla and Kate Middleton. Did Camilla just tell her to go away?
As People reported, the moment unfolded when the royals spoke with the Trumps outside of Victoria House. Prince William and King Charles had split off to talk to Trump while Camilla, Kate, and Melania were chatting in their own group.
Footage from their chat now shows Camilla appearing to ask Kate to move, though we can’t hear their conversation in the video. Kate then says goodbye and walks away to stand next to Will.
Ok you can go now, the grown ups need to talk 😂 Cammy is no joke 😂😂😂 pic.twitter.com/g9jaMqrdvx

Moments later, the horse carriages arrived for their processional to the castle, but as far as those watching the video believe, the way things played out didn’t exactly reflect well on the relationship between Kate and Camilla.
On X, one person said that it looked like Kate was “getting scolded by Camilla like a child,” while another wrote, “That was outright dismissal. Look at the way she shifted.”
Others came to Camilla’s defense, saying that she was simply telling Kate to look out for the horses who were coming to pick everyone up in the carriages … but at this point, nobody knows for sure exactly what words were exchanged between them in that moment.
Other than this bit of awkwardness, the rest of the evening seemed to go off without a hitch, including the state banquet that welcomed more than 100 guests on Wednesday night.
With one more day remaining of the Trumps’ state visit, it’ll be interesting to see how they wrap things up with the royals.
