King Charles’ visit to Antigua did not go the way he expected, thanks to the weather. After footage emerged of the king looking supremely pissed when he and Queen Camilla got caught in a sudden downpour, and aides weren’t able to get him an umbrella before he was totally soaked, that much is obvious.
But people aren’t just analyzing Charles’ behavior — they’re also analyzing how Camilla got an umbrella first and walked out without thinking twice about her husband being stuck in the rain.
Charles looked so annoyed in the moment.
As multiple outlets including People reported, Sunday, Charles and Camilla were in Antigua on their Caribbean tour to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Antigua and Barbados gaining independence. They were outdoors to watch a parade when a storm began, seemingly out of nowhere. It wasn’t just drizzling out, either; there was a rough combo of wind and rain that couldn’t have been fun for anyone to be stuck in.
The rain was coming down pretty hard, and it didn’t seem like aides were in any big hurry to make sure that Charles could find cover quickly, and boy, was he unhappy about it. Footage from the visit shows Charles as he appears to angrily gesture for help, and his tan suit is getting more and more soaked by the second.
Oops.
Camilla got the heck out of dodge without a second thought.
Another video of the moment that’s making the rounds on social media shows how differently the storm played out for Charles’ wife. She only has to wait a matter of seconds before someone rushes over to hand her an umbrella, and then she hightails it out of there without even looking back to see if her husband is following her.
To be totally fair, it was raining really hard, so who could blame her for leaving at the first opportunity? And it is kind of funny to see Charles, who is the literal king of England, being left in her dust without the umbrella.
People don’t believe this says anything positive about their marriage.
As the situation is being dissected on Reddit, people are comparing Camilla’s behavior to the way Meghan Markle behaved in a similar situation when she and Prince Harry were at an event in the rain. Meghan took the umbrella she was given and used it to shield both her and Harry, and where Camilla is concerned, it seems like that idea never even crossed her mind.

Another commenter added, “When she was younger, she tolerated the worst of his personality traits. But now? She old and don’t give AF anymore.” .
