Mila Kunis Mocks Ashton Kutcher for His Awkward Red Carpet Moment With Reese Witherspoon

When two people star in a romantic comedy together, you expect them to at least be able to bring some of that on-screen chemistry to the real world. But that doesn't appear to be the case for Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher now that they're promoting their new Netflix movie, Your Place or Mine. The costars' cold red carpet appearances have gone viral after people noticed the pair kept quite a bit of distance between them after filming wrapped, and now, even Ashton's wife, Mila Kunis, is getting in on the fun.

Reese and Ashton look a lot like two awkward tweens at a school dance in these new photos.

During their promotional tour for the upcoming Netflix rom-com, Reese and Ashton looked like virtual strangers as they posed a good distance away from one another for photos. From their body language alone, we'd totally believe they'd never met each other before if we didn't know any better!

Twitter didn't miss a beat after the photos started circulating, and several memes quickly went viral.

Even Ashton's wife picked up on the lack of a vibe between the pair.

Mila felt just like the rest of us when she saw the snaps of her husband and Reese, and she knew she had to do something about it. Reese explained how she got an email from her costar's wife making fun of how awkward the photos looked.

"She goes, 'You guys look so awkward on the red carpet together,'" Reese revealed during an interview on Today, via Entertainment Weekly.

Apparently Ashton has a good reason for keeping things PG on their promotional tour.

On Monday, Ashton addressed his critics head on while appearing on the Chicks in the Office podcast, defending his decision to keep Reese at arm’s length during their press tour.

"Here's the thing: If I put my arm around her and was, like, all friendly with her, I'd be having an affair with her," he said. "If I stand next to her and I put my hands in my pockets, so there's no chance that, like, that could be the rumor, the rumor is we don't like each other."

It sounds like Ashton is just over the whole red carpet in general.

Ashton admitted it was hard to tell who was yelling his name at times because he's "hard of hearing," which complicated things.

"If you're going to tell me in that entire 20 minutes, at one point, you're not going to have an awkward face on, then you’re better than I am and I'm cool with that," he said.

Neither Reese or Ashton seems that worried about their off-screen appearances.

Ashton told Variety that he had the time of his life shooting the new flick.

"I got to be in scenes across from a genuine movie star," he said of Reese. "She's such a movie star. It was so wonderful and fun and funny and light. There was never a dark day. There was never a day that everything went wrong. I got spoiled."

Curious fans will have to wait until Your Place or Mine drops on Netflix on February 10 to see if things really went as well as Ashton said they did on screen. Based on those press snaps, we're going to have to see it to believe it!
