Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s affair with journalist Olivia Nuzzi appears to have been more than just a handful of flirtatious texts. New information paints the relationship that took place between the two as a more intense affair than what was initially conveyed. Nuzzi first got involved with RFK Jr. when she was assigned to write a profile on him in November 2023, about a month after he stepped away from the Democratic Party and announced that he’d be running as an independent candidate.

They allegedly had FaceTime sex.
Reports from RadarOnline.com claim that the 70-year-old politician and 31-year-old reporter engaged in “incredible” FaceTime sex sessions and exchanged very lovey-dovey messages. Sources say that Nuzzi was initially not interested in him after he supposedly made the first move on her after suggesting they go on a hike to talk about the story she was writing on him at the time in October 2023. One insider told Page Six that Kennedy “grabbed her arm” during their walk, which disturbed her.
RFK Jr. followed up with a text after the incident.
The source says that days after the hike, RFK Jr. texted Nuzzi saying that he “wanted to tell her something” off the record, per Page Six. Apparently, this is where their communication turned into “incredible” virtual sex where he completely “love bombed” her. Sources say she quickly fell in love and maintained the secret relationship for almost a year while engaged to journalist Ryan Lizza at the time.

People close to Nuzzi says she became 'infatuated.'
People in the journalist’s circle say that she became “infatuated” with RFK Jr. “He’s done it to lots of women — claimed he can’t live without them,” one source said. “He told Olivia they’d be together after the election.”
But he reportedly also controlled their relationship. “He seemed to want to be in control,” the insider continued. “He’d set the rules for their interactions, and then of course he’d break them.”
They dropped the L-word on each other.
“Olivia told multiple people that they told each other they loved each other [over the phone] every time they talked,” an insider said. Another source also told PageSix that Nuzzi’s partner at the time became aware of the affair in August 2024 and confronted Kennedy. Sources also say the reporter’s friends were surprised she would risk her career and relationship for an “exclusively phone-based relationship.”
RFK Jr. threatened to sue Nuzzi.
According to the New York Post, RFK Jr. threatened to sue Nuzzi for allegedly bombarding him “with increasingly pornographic photos and videos.” A mutual friend, Jessica Read Kraus, claims the journalist tricked Kennedy into unblocking her number to share the sexts that “he found difficult to resist.” Other reports say that he boasted to his friend about having “intimate” photos of Nuzzi before she was placed on leave from New York Magazine.
