15 Times the Roloffs Threw Shade at Each Other

At times, the Roloff family of Little People, Big World fame has seemed to be a tight-knit one — but over the last few years, the drama has really started to come out. Things first started to fall apart when Jacob and his wife, Isabel, left the show, soon to be followed by Jeremy and his wife, Audrey. From there, these once-close siblings have been hurling what fans assume are passive-aggressive remarks at each other via social media.

But honestly, it's not just the siblings. Parents Matt and Amy, who are now divorced, are guilty of the same thing every once in a while too.

Don't get us wrong — we love reality TV drama! But at this point, the Roloffs have been accused of throwing shade at each other so often that we have to wonder if they even like each other anymore.

Here are 15 times the Roloffs have thrown shade or called each other out, whether it was on the show itself or on Instagram. We'll never know for sure if some of these posts were really directed at a family member, but at this point, nothing would surprise us.

Amy Moving Out

In 2018, Amy wrote about cleaning out her house as she prepared to move away from Roloff Farms, and fans were sure that her caption was directed at ex-husband Matt.

"It's going to feel good. It's hard to let go of some things, though, but in the long run it's a good thing," she wrote at the time. "Isn't that kind of like life — hanging on to stuff and people when it's time to let go or the other way around. Letting go when we need to hang on."

Matt's Remarks About Amy

Amy isn't the only one accused of throwing shade at an ex. Matt also has made a remark or two that could be aimed at Amy. On a 2020 episode of Little People, Big World, Matt and new wife Caryn talked about Amy to such an extent that a producer stepped in to defend her, according to In Touch.

"When Matt was waiting for Amy to make all these decisions — you know what? It affected our relationship I think more than either one of us or anybody realized," Caryn said. "And I think since Matt owns his side of the farm, he's just happier. But you know, Matt still owns that side of the farm with Amy, so we're not done yet."

Amy Roloff, the Bridezilla

While Amy was still planning her wedding to Chris Marek, she may have gone a little overboard — at least, according to her daughter-in-law Tori. On one episode of the family's reality show, Tori accused Amy of being a bridezilla, saying, "It's not 'my wedding,' it's not 'my marriage.' It is 'OUR wedding.'"

Jacob's Political Shade

Jacob has never tried to hide the fact that he and Jeremy have very different political beliefs, and before the 2020 presidential election, Jacob called out his older brother for believing in conspiracy theories put forth by former president Donald Trump.

"My brother is one of these millions," he wrote on his Instagram story (via Reddit) in response to a tweet about Trump's campaign.

Tori's Controversial Post

When Tori took to her Instagram story to speak out against an abortion ruling in New York, Isabel was quick to call her out for remaining silent on all other social issues, even if she didn't mention Tori by name.

"Why am I just now seeing people who normally don't speak on important issues of humanity suddenly use their voices?" Isabel wrote on Instagram.

Isabel's Shade Against Audrey's Silence

Tori isn't the only one who's been called out by Isabel. In January 2021, Isabel seemed to throw shade Audrey's way after Audrey told her followers that she wouldn't be "pressured" to speak out against the January 6 insurrection.

"If it's not 'on brand' for you to talk about things like white terrorism, your brand is bulls—," read an Instagram post that Isabel shared to her feed after Audrey issued her statement.

Tori & Zach's Dreams of Roloff Farms

At one point, it seemed that who would buy Roloff Farms was down to Zach or Jeremy, two of Matt and Amy's sons. But in the end, neither of them ended up buying it. And later, during an Instagram Q&A, Tori seemed to hint that it was Matt's fault — and not theirs — that they aren't the new owners of the farm.

"Some things just don't go according to plan. But it all worked out for us," she shared.

Tori Snubbing Audrey

After Audrey announced that she was expecting her third child, fans thought that Tori was snubbing her on purpose, having experienced a miscarriage just months earlier. As The Sun pointed out, Tori was one of the few family members who didn't publicly congratulate her sister-in-law on her pregnancy.

'Little People, Big World' Drama

These days, Audrey and Jeremy are no longer on Little People, Big World even though Zach and Tori still are, so Jeremy's recent remarks about the show being on its last legs didn't impress Tori in the slightest.

"It's become that athlete who just won't hang up the cleats, so he's doing damage to the team and injuring himself in the process. Audrey and I had other things we wanted to do besides fabricating drama on TV," Jeremy shared in an Instagram Q&A.

Later, Tori responded, writing on her own Instagram story, "I don't know what he said, but each individual family has to make their own decisions. It still works for our family, and we [enjoy sharing] our story."

Ignoring Audrey's Birthday

During Audrey's square dancing birthday party in 2021, Tori and Zach were notably missing from the crowd — and they didn't wish her a happy birthday either (at least, not on social media). This only added fuel to the fire that they were shading Audrey. Oh, boy.

Jeremy & Audrey, Pseudo-Entrepreneurs

At the end of 2020, Jacob seemed to be criticizing his brother and sister-in-law when he posted this underlined excerpt from a book to his Instagram story.

"Increasing numbers of younger people in our late-stage capitalist economy are pushed into forms of precarious freelance pseudo-entrepreneurship," the excerpt read.

Amy Roloff Accused of Being a Bad Grandma

After Jeremy and Audrey welcomed their first child, Jeremy seemed to hint that Amy wasn't helping with baby Ember as much as he thought she would.

"So Audrey's mom came over for a little bit to help, which has been amazing," Jeremy said in an Instagram story posted shortly after Ember's birth. "So I'm going to run to the store, just do our little list of errands, and stock up on some stuff. Audrey is feeling better, which is nice."

This got fans wondering why Amy hadn't been helping them get things done instead — and had he mentioned Audrey's mom to shade Amy?

Speaking Out Against MLMs

If you guessed that Jacob has called out Jeremy and Audrey on multiple occasions, you'd be right! He's also spoken about predatory multilevel marketing schemes, and let's not forget that Audrey is a part of one, selling Young Living essential oils.

"Don't do or promote MLM bulls— because it rots our societal brain and enables a labor relationship and vision that hurts the working class," he wrote in the post.

Audrey's Pet Peeves

Going back to Audrey and Tori's feud, here's another example of a time when they were making passive-aggressive remarks about each other. On Instagram, Audrey revealed that one of her pet peeves is "when someone starts their story with 'hey friends' or 'happy whatever-day-it-is" — curiously just days after Tori had posted a video that began with "hey friends," according to The Hollywood Gossip.

Audrey's Response to Black Lives Matter Protests

Another time that Jacob called out Audrey on social media was in response to the fact that she stayed silent about the Black Lives Matter protests in 2020.

"White people with moneyed cameras and moneyed families using black music, black message, black faces, to spread police propaganda and white Christian voices while contributing nothing to the movement, no call to donation, no call to action; only empty gestures and fancy platitudes," he wrote after Audrey reshared a video from her brother calling for unity (via The Hollywood Gossip).
