While Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were married for more than 70 years before death parted them, other couples haven't been so lucky. The end of the marriage of King Charles (then a prince) and Princess Diana wasn't exactly pretty to witness, after all.
Whether couples are royal or not, compatibility truly does have a lot to do with their relationships thriving, since clashing personalities don't always create the most successful union. And for those who believe in astrology, the couple's star signs could have a little to do with it, too.
Recently, a review conducted by Psychic World revealed how compatible the major royal couples are based on their star signs, and the results are surprising.

Queen Elizabeth & Prince Philip
Despite a marriage that spanned seven decades, the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip are the least compatible royal couple, according to their star signs. Psychic World estimates that they were only 33% compatible, since their Taurus and Gemini signs clashed a bit. They did have one thing going for them, though.
"Both royals shared a Rising Capricorn which allowed them to put on a front of power and professionalism as the heads of the family," said horoscope experts.
Prince Harry & Meghan Markle
There's a very strong contingent of people who have been wondering if (or when) Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relationship is going to fail, and if it's up to the stars, they might be onto something. As a Leo, the Duchess of Sussex is passionate, while the Virgo Duke of Sussex is a bit more composed, but experts said that Meghan's similarities to Diana may be what keeps them together despite that.
"Meghan is also very relationship-orientated and sentimental like Diana, due to her Rising Cancer Ascendant, so Harry probably picked up on her Cancerian energy and nurturing nature," they said.

Princess Anne & Timothy Laurence
Things may not have worked out with Princess Anne's first husband, Mark Phillips, but she's been happily married to Sir Timothy Laurence for more than 30 years. Still, as a Leo and a Pisces, they're only 38% compatible, and could easily lose patience with each other due to their conflicting astrological traits.
Princess Eugenie & Jack Brooksbank
As an Aries and a Taurus, respectively, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank, who have been married since 2018, are also only 38% compatible. People born under these signs tend to be passionate and stubborn in their own ways, which can lead to problems in a relationship. Hopefully these two keep the lines of communication open, especially when they have disagreements.

Prince Edward & Sophie, Countess of Wessex
Prince Edward is the only one of Queen Elizabeth's children who has never been divorced, and it might be thanks to his and wife Sophie's astrological connection. Edward is a Pisces, while Sophie is an Aquarius, and their signs are about 45% compatible according to the study. Not too shabby — and they have more than 20 years of marriage under their belts to prove it.
Princess Beatrice & Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi
Princess Beatrice and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi may have been fated to each other before they tied the knot. This Leo and Scorpio are 58% compatible — mostly because they can be different in a way that complements each other, rather than tearing them apart. According to Yahoo, compromises will need to be made, but on the whole, they each hold opposite weaknesses and strengths that help them complete each other in a relationship.
Prince William & Kate Middleton
Given their long relationship and how happy they still look together after more than a decade of marriage and three children, it's no surprise that Prince William and Kate Middleton are the second most compatible couple on this list, coming in at 83%. The Prince of Wales is a Cancer, and the Princess of Wales is a Capricorn.
"William and Kate's karmic ties join forces like a dream. William, more reserved and traditional, was instantly attracted to Kate's confident yet down-to-earth spirit. Something about this astrological duo instantly tells them they need to be together," Psychic World's experts said.

King Charles & Queen Camilla
After a lot of ups and downs over the years that ultimately culminated in their 2005 marriage (and being crowned king and queen together in May 2023), maybe we shouldn't be shocked to find out that King Charles and Queen Camilla are 94% compatible, making them the most compatible couple overall.
"Charles and Camilla connected very quickly after meeting, as Scorpios and Cancers often do. With two of the horoscopes most intense signs, King Charles' passionate Scorpio Sun complements the powerful emotion and intuitiveness of the Cancer in both Camilla and Diana," said the experts.
They also added that, as a Cancer, it might have been Diana's "free-spirited nature and ability to take risks" that doomed her and Charles as a couple.
