The Royal Family Reportedly Can’t Be Bothered To Watch Meghan Markle’s New Show

Though it has received numerous scathing reviews, Meghan Markle’s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, has been renewed for another season. However, the royal family likely won’t be watching the Duchess of Sussex’s show anytime soon. They’re simply not interested, according to Vanity Fair sources.

King Charles is ‘far too busy.’

A source told Vanity Fair that King Charles doesn’t have time to watch his daughter-in-law’s new Netflix show. But even if he did, he probably still wouldn’t watch it. Why would he? “The king knows more than enough about beekeeping,” a source told the publication.

Prince William and Princess Kate can’t be bothered to watch it either.

They reportedly have “zero interest” in the show, especially because “there’s very little to actually learn from Meghan’s TV show,” per a Vanity Fair source. The royal insider told the publication that they “suspect that [the royal family] will be quite dismissive of it.”

They also said they would be shocked if William and Kate took the time to watch it. “I can’t imagine Kate and William will sit down and watch it. Why would they?” they said.

Meghan is celebrating.

Despite the criticism, Meghan has been excitedly promoting her show on social media. On Friday, March 7, she celebrated the fact that With Love, Meghan was renewed for a second season. “If you’re loving Season 1, just wait until you see the fun we cooked up on Season 2!” she wrote on Instagram. “Thanks for joining the party, and an endless thanks to the amazing team and crew who helped bring it all to life!”

In a post shared to her Instagram Stories, she said, “I’m thrilled to share that Season 2 of With Love, Meghan is coming!”

Critics have written harsh reviews of the show.

In a piece titled, “Meghan Markle Would’ve Been the Perfect Royal. Instead, We’re Stuck With With Love, Meghan,” Slate writer Nadira Goffe says Meghan “seems to be lovely,” but her show is “completely eye-rolling.” A Variety review referred to the Netflix show as a “Montecito ego trip not worth taking.”

Writing for The Independent, Katie Rosseinsky says “the show simultaneously strains for aspiration and relatability in a way that never gels.” In a review for The Guardian, Stuart Heritage called the show “so pointless it might be the Sussexes’ last TV show.”

Meghan is expected to start selling products through her lifestyle brand soon.

Shortly after the release of her new Netflix show, Meghan unveiled some of the products that her lifestyle brand, As Ever, will be selling. The products listed on the website include honey, flower sprinkles, tea, and of course, jam, which Meghan has said “is [her] jam.” As of March 7, the products are not available for purchase, and those who are interested are encouraged to sign up for email updates.
