After some speculation from her social media followers, Rumer Willis is letting fans in on an important life update. During a recent Instagram Q&A, Rumer confirmed that she has split from Derek Richard Thomas, who she welcomed her first child, Louetta, with last year. The good news? Despite how difficult breakups can truly be, it sounds like this celebrity mom is doing just fine.

Rumer cleared the air on her Instagram Stories.
Though her Instagram Stories posts from the Q&A have since expired, E! News was able to capture a screenshot of this one before they disappeared.
When someone asked Rumer if she was still with Derek, she replied with a definitive "nope."
"I am single momming it and coparenting," she wrote.
She doesn't have any regrets, though.
She continued on to point out that, without that relationship, she wouldn't have her daughter.
"I'm so grateful for Lou," she added. "She's the best thing in my life and I'm forever grateful I was able to have the time in that relationship for her to come into my life."
All seemed to be well between the couple as recently as June.
Derek and Rumer shared a joint post on Instagram on June 16 that included messages to each other in honor of Father's Day. In one message, Derek called Rumer his "loving partner" in parenthood.
Meanwhile, in her message to Derek, Rumer called herself and Louetta "your girls."

Louetta was born in April 2023.
When Louetta arrived on April 18, 2023, Rumer shared the news with her followers on Instagram, revealing that she and Derek had chosen to name their little girl Louetta Isley Thomas Willis.
"You are pure magic," she wrote alongside the first photo of baby Lou. "You are more than we ever dreamed of."
Co-parenting isn't always easy.
But hopefully, she and Derek will be able to get into a good rhythm, like many single parents do.
In the meantime, it appears Rumer has plenty of support from her family, including her mom, Demi Moore, along with her sisters. So far, it looks like she and Lou are doing just fine.
