Things have continued to go downhill for Teen Mom alum Ryan Edwards. The former reality star — who has been plagued with legal issues since threatening his estranged wife Mackenzie Edwards after accusing her of cheating — is now sitting in jail after allegedly overdosing while behind the wheel. Because of the seriousness of this offense, it sounds like he might be staying there for quite some time.

The scary situation unfolded at the start of April.
According to In Touch Weekly, Ryan was taken to the hospital by ambulance after he was found "unconscious and unresponsive" in the driver's seat of his truck. Police in Chattanooga, Tennessee, discovered him at 12:06 a.m., after he apparently overdosed while on the road, causing his truck to cruise until it hit a curb and stopped.
Officers had to use a lockout kit to get to Ryan.
"Ryan Edwards was removed from the vehicle and placed in [an ambulance], where he received Narcan and eventually regained consciousness," an affidavit obtained by the magazine stated.
"A quick search of Ryan Edwards by EMS turned up a small bag of what appeared to be a crystal-type substance and a second small bag of what appeared to be a blue powder. Also in the pocket was a paper receipt that had been rolled up."
At the hospital, Ryan confessed to snorting the unknown powder.
While the authorities stated they were unable to identify the powder, Ryan did admit that he "snorted a powder before waking up in the back of an ambulance."
After he was stabilized, Ryan was taken into custody and charged with DUI and simple possession. The magazine reports he's being held without bond while he awaits an April 20 hearing.
The DUI arrest happened the same day Ryan was arrested for violating probation.
According to additional information obtained by In Touch, the Chattanooga State Police also have an arrest record for Ryan on April 7 — this time for violating the terms of his probation by harassing his estranged wife Mackenzie.
Mackenzie took out a protection order against Ryan after he allegedly physically assaulted her and threatened to have her killed by a motorcycle gang.

We hope Ryan's children are being kept away from the news right now.
Ryan has three children who range in age from 14 to 3. We can't imagine how hard this has been for both Mackenzie and Ryan's ex Maci Bookout, who is the mother of his oldest child, as they try to keep this news off their children's radars.
Hopefully they're surrounded by a lot of love and support right now. We imagine Ryan is going to be facing a pretty good stint in jail after his most recent exploits.
