Samantha Cope has broken her silence following her decision to file for divorce from her husband of two years, Joey Lawrence. On August 24, 2024, the 37-year-old actress posted on Instagram for the first time amid news of the divorce. She shared some beautiful advice she received from a friend and shared an encouraging message to her followers. Samantha filed for divorce from the 48-year-old actor on August 13, 2024.

In her post, Samantha shared video clips of her with her and Joey's 1-year-old daughter, Dylan Rose. In some of the moments, the mother-daughter duo are seen in the car laughing or dancing around their home. She also shared emotional clips of herself crying.
A friend told her to express her feelings.
"An amazing friend of mine recently told me 'don’t be afraid of the tears. Let them flow. Because every tear is God gently squeezing the pain and devastation from your heart to make room for new beautiful feelings to come in,'" she wrote in the caption. "She also reminded me: 'the more you cry, the less you pee' So let them flow. You got this. ."

A source says Joey cheated on Samantha with a costar.
"Joey met Melina Alves on the set of their movie, where she was a producer," a source shared of the reason for divorce. "He then love-bombed her just like he love-bombed Samantha. He continued to date Melina even after Samantha found out about it and confronted him."
