Sarah Jessica Parker has always been an animal lover, but from what we know after watching many episodes of Sex and the City is that Carrie Bradshaw has never really given off any big cat lady vibes. But on the show's reboot, And Just Like That, that's all changing. And apparently, it's also brought about a change in SJP's life, too, because according to an Instagram post she shared this week, Sarah Jessica actually adopted Carrie's cat, who is now living happily ever after with her and husband Matthew Broderick.

Carrie ended up adopting a cat on last week's episode.
After the controversial character Che Diaz (played by Sara Ramirez) brought a kitten over to Carrie's house, she decided to adopt him, naming him Shoe — because honestly, what else?
If it seemed like the cat looks right at home in Carrie's arms, there's a very good reason for that.
SJP revealed that she has adopted Shoe.
Except in real life, his name isn't shoe — it's Lotus.
"He and his siblings were all given botanical names when they were rescued as newborns by the @cthumanesociety," Sarah Jessica wrote in the caption of the Instagram post where she shared several photos of her new roommate. "Adopted officially by the Parker/Broderick family in April 2023. He joins Rémy and Smila whom we adopted in May 2022. If he looks familiar, that's because he is."
The Connecticut Humane Society is also celebrating the adoption.
Sharing a photo of little Lotus on Facebook, the organization took the time to brag a bit about one of their most famous adoptees.
"Some pets get really exciting foster homes while they're here at the Connecticut Humane Society. Little Lotus got to be on the set of And Just Like That with @SarahJessicaParker in Manhattan!" the society wrote. "Did you see his adorable debut? And #spoileralert, Lotus liked the spotlight so much, he's decided to stay on the show!"
Carrie may be new to the cat lady lifestyle, but SJP definitely isn't.
In fact, if you follow her on Instagram, you already know that she posts photos of her pets very often. And honestly, it seems as if Lotus ended up in a pretty sweet situation. Who wouldn't want to move into the Parker/Broderick household?

We just hope the other cats in the neighborhood don't get starstruck when they see him, because as far as we can tell, this kitty is a pretty big deal. Here's hoping we get to see plenty of new pics of SJP's newest furry friend soon.
