Savannah Chrisley Speaks Out About What It Was Like To Visit Dad Todd in Prison

Reality star Savannah Chrisley is sharing the details from her first visit to see her father Todd Chrisley in his new home in the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida. According to the 25-year-old, the visit left her feeling hopeful.

The 'Chrisley Knows Best' star finally got her first chance to see her father after he reported to prison.

Savannah shared her story on her Unlocked With Savannah Chrisley podcast, explaining how she felt entering the visiting center at FPC Pensacola for the first time.

"I never felt the presence of Jesus more than I have in that visiting room," she told her listeners of the experience.

The visit cleared up some of the anxiety Savannah had been feeling about her parents being away.

"Even visiting my dad, like, I know I have so much hope and so much restored strength that I'm like, 'This isn't the end,'" she continued.

Both Todd and Julie are serving time after being convicted of tax evasion and bank fraud. Todd will spend 12 years behind bars while Julie will only be incarcerated for seven.

Savannah has chosen to remain optimistic about her parent's sentencing.

"And I know that they're going through what they're going through for us to make a difference, for us to make a change," she said of the punishment they received for their crimes that totaled in the tens of millions. "Because whether this appeal works or not, they're still coming out with a story."

But even with that optimism, Savannah still has a lot to say about her mother's new living conditions.

Julie is serving her sentence at FMC Lexington, Kentucky.

Savannah was very upset when she learned that the service dogs working at the location where her mother is living were able to stay in air-conditioned quarters while her mother was not.

"My mom's in a facility that has no air, but yet, there are service dogs for the prison that are in a heated and cooled building because it's inhumane for them not to have air," she claimed.

With everything going on, Savannah was able to laugh at her dad's new look.

The normally very well put together Todd has apparently had to forgo some of his routine beauty treatments behind bars.

"I will say it's really weird seeing him with gray hair," she confessed. "Like, really weird. He's definitely used some color over the years, and now seeing him with gray hair. I’m like, 'Oh my gosh!'"

We're glad Savannah appears to be having an easy time adjusting to her new life without her parents by her side. Hopefully the next several years fly by for her and her siblings.
