Some celebrities treat their home as an oasis of sorts. It's somewhere they can unwind and not have to worry about being in the spotlight while they're tucked away. The pressure that comes with everyone knowing who they are and feeling like they know them through their work has to be a challenging thing to balance. But actor-comedian Seth Rogen seems to have that balance down.
Seth has been in the Hollywood scene for a long time. He's found great success in leading roles, lending his voice to animated characters, writing, and directing. He's comedy gold! Needless to say, he deserves a lavish and comfortable pad. Along with his wife, the actor purchased a Spanish-style bungalow in the heart of West Hollywood, California, in 2006, for $1.65 million. And it's come time for him to sell, perhaps for an upgrade?
Seth has decided to move from the space he called home for the past 14 years. The property is currently on the market for a cool $2.125 million. The 2,853-square-foot home with four bedrooms and three bathrooms is described as a "magical Zen retreat."
The photos certainly play on that nickname, and we've got them. Come take a peek inside the Hollywood mansion the star used to call home.
The Green Backyard
If Seth's goal was to have a home where he could feel the stress of his life melt away, this home likely filled that need. There is so much greenery in his backyard, providing not only great privacy and shade, but beautiful scenery.
A Bright Bathroom
We're really big fans of the deep wood color paired with the glossy, bright white counters and cabinets in his bathroom. The shower and tub combination look like it's a lovely double size, and there's so much light filling every corner with all the windows.
There's a Soaker Tub in Here, Too
Of course, a mansion can't be given the nickname "oasis" unless there's a jealousy-inducing tub to soak in after a long day, and this one does not disappoint one bit. We love how the wood lining the tub matches the wood floor. The design makes it a feel like a spa retreat.
A Dining Room With a Fancy Light Fixture
This area seems to evoke happiness, calm, and clarity from the items that fill the space. We love the light fixture hanging above the table. It gives off a youthful feel and it's impossible to not feel joy with that. There's so much texture in this room, too, from the brick wall to the metal swirl columns.
A Bright Kitchen
We've seen some impressive kitchens in the homes of mega-millionaire celebrities. They are always impressive both in size and detail. We love the bright and open feel we get from this one, and the unusual island that looks super functional.
A Peaceful Living Room
The highlight of this room are the gorgeous windows, which allow all that happy light to come through. It's a theme that carries through the house, as are the little details that pop once we see them. In this space, the crown molding gives the room some added charm.
The Other Side of the Living Room
At the other end of the living room, we can see the dining room entrance, giving this main floor an open feel. The off-white walls paired with the muted accents and furniture give the room a peaceful feeling.
Main Bedroom
The main bedroom is full of calm spaces and quirky touches. The big bright windows and plain walls continue in the main bedroom, free of the typically flashy features we see adorn other celebrity homes.
The Main Office
It's hard to tell exactly what this room is for or where in the house it is — be it upstairs or downstairs — but we are obsessed with the custom, built-in unit in deep brown with a glossy finish. It pairs well with the stunning hardwood floors and brings some detail into the room.
The Guest Room
The French doors lead to the backyard and bring so much light into this room from the floor to the ceiling. It looks like this room could be used as a guest space and/or another office area. It's a welcome room for anyone hanging out with the actor and perhaps collaborating with him on his next big movie.
A Quaint Space for Work
Seth was likely able to do some great work in his home given he's got so many spaces where work can be done. Is it's true that simplicity can breed creativity, then this space is ideal. We love how calming this room feels.
A Pool & Hot Tub
Outside, the continuation of making space for relaxation and unwinding is important. Between the landscaping and the beautiful tilework on the side of the hot tub, we're guessing Seth and his wife spent a lot of time out here at the pool. It's gorgeous.
A Calm Place to Sit
Seriously, we could spend our whole day out here and feel completely at peace. We're obsessed with the brickwork with the grass peeking through, which adds another layer of greenery. And it's clever to have the iron fence that surrounds the property hidden by the plants.
An Outdoor Fireplace
We imagine this was a favorite place for Seth and and his wife to hang out in the evenings when the sun has set. It's another area that's function over show. The overhang protects from the hottest summer sun and provides a comforting layer of privacy.
Outdoor Dining Area
Being able to eat outside while surrounded by beautiful plants had to be a dream. It seems that every detail in this space has been done to perfection. This tile table mirrors the calm aura that we see inside the home, and the tilework keeps with that Spanish bungalow theme within the whole home.
Cozy Deck
There's another oasis back here. This space has an organic feel. Beyond, there's a koi pond for stillness and a small pergola. We love the untamed bohemian feel.
