In a memoir set to come out in September 2025, Sister Wives star Christine Brown tells her story. Described as a “candid tell-all,” the book shines light on Christine’s decision to leave polygamy. However, when Christine shared the cover on Instagram, some questioned whether she has truly moved on, given that she is publishing her book under Kody Brown’s last name.

Christine is now married to David Woolley.
After parting ways with Kody Brown (and polygamy), Christine announced that she would “be a monogamist from here on out.” She went on to marry her husband David Woolley in October 2023. Christine and Kody split up in 2021. They share six children: Aspyn, Mykelti, Paedon, Gwendlyn, Ysabel, and Truely.
Fans noticed that Christine is publishing her book under the name ‘Christine Brown Woolley.’
Even though this is also the name Christine uses on Instagram, when fans saw the book cover she shared on March 4, they questioned why she hasn’t ditched Kody’s last name.
“Why leave Brown on your name??” one person questioned on Instagram. “Do you plan to return to that mess someday? Recognition?”
Another fan added that using the name “Brown” seemed “almost hypocritical” and “just weird.”
“Kinda messed up that you left ‘Brown’ on there since you are no longer with Kody,” a third fan wrote. “Almost seems like you didn’t wanna leave and are still undecided.”

Others defended Christine and said using Kody’s last name seemed entirely normal.
In response to the negative comments about Christine’s name on her book, some fans urged naysayers to mind their own business. Besides, the fact that Christine is still going by “Christine Brown” is really not that weird, several people explained.
“Y’all her kids have brown [as a] last name and she probably still has business ties to brown,” one fan pointed out. “She’s earned the right to use the brown name for whatever she likes.”
Some people reminded the critics that it’s “a personal choice.” “You do know women can get divorced and still keep the married name,” a fan wrote. “Kids, career, plenty of reasons all of which are none of your business.”
To many of Christine’s fans, her decision to keep the Brown last name made a lot of sense. After all, she might be using it “professionally” because “that’s how people know her.”
Despite the naysayers, many people were excited about the memoir.
On Instagram, Christine announced that her book, which is titled Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Finding Freedom, is available for pre-order. “I’m so EXCITED to share MORE details you haven’t heard before!” Christine wrote in the caption.
Fans flocked to the comments to congratulate Christine and let her know that they, too, are super excited for the book to come out.
One fan noted that they hope Kody’s other former wives, Meri Brown and Janelle Brown, release their own books, too. “I am sure each [wife’s] story would be so different and we need the gossip,” they wrote.
