‘Sister Wives’ Stars Sell Coyote Pass for $1.5 Million After Heated Feud

The heated dispute over what to do with Coyote Pass has seemingly come to a close. On Sister Wives, Janelle Brown and Meri Brown previously complained about how their former husband Kody did not communicate with them about the land. They both felt entitled to their share of the land — but Kody argued that he had purchased most of it himself. On April 15, The U.S. Sun reported that the property near Flagstaff, Arizona, has sold for $1,500,000.

Kody argued that he paid for most of the land.

The former plural family had planned on building their dream homes on the land, which the family purchased for $820,000 in 2018. Kody had a vision for Coyote Pass. He would build five separate homes on the property: one for each of his then-wives, and a separate one for himself. But the dreams never came to fruition. When one of his wives, Christine, later left him, she sold her portion of the land to him for $10.

Janelle and Meri also left the plural marriage, but they still felt they should have a say in what was done with the property since the family had purchased it together. Kody disagreed with this. He claimed that the property wasn’t purchased “all equally.”

“I paid for an entire lot all by myself, at least 92% of it,” he said. He claimed that his ex-wives and his current wife, Robyn Brown, simply “chipped in.”

It was previously reported that the ‘Sister Wives’ stars divvied up the property.

Eventually, the Sister Wives stars seem to settle their dispute — at least on some level. In March, it was reported that they divvied up the land so that 50% of it belonged to Kody and Robyn, leaving Meri and Janelle with 25% each.

Coyote Pass sold for $1.5 million.

Per The U.S. Sun, a plot of land owned by Kody and Robyn sold for $305,000 on April 14. Another 2.42-acre plot of land that was in Meri’s and Janelle’s names sold for $305,000. Two other parcels of land sold for $400,000 and $490,000, respectively.

‘Sister Wives’ fans reacted to the news.

Many fans hoped that the sale was good news for both Meri and Janelle. “It’s about time,” one fan wrote on Reddit. “I’m glad Janelle and Meri got a piece of it. The swindlers have gained enough from these women.”

A second fan celebrated the news with, “That’s so awesome for Meri and Janelle.”

Another fan shared their hopes for the future, “I hope after this, they go on with their lives and never have contact with Robyn or Kody again because those two are nothing but snakes in the grass.”

A fourth person wrote that they could understand why Janelle (and later Meri) wanted to hire lawyers amid the messy dispute over the land. “And that is why Janelle fought for it,” the person wrote. “We knew it was about more than Kody said. That must have hurt him to let go of $360k.”
