‘Sister Wives’ Star Robyn Brown Has Reportedly Spent Over $62k on Doll Collection

The past few seasons of Sister Wives have focused on two tough subjects: the choice that Kody Brown‘s former wives, Meri, Christine, and Janelle, have made to walk away from their plural family, and the struggle to pay off the land that the family bought to build homes on at Coyote Pass. Robyn is now the last wife standing, and thanks to her Etsy history, it seems we may know where some of the money has been going. Unsurprisingly, fans of the show have a lot of thoughts about this revelation.

Robyn’s unusual spending habits were recently brought to light.

Reality TV blogger Katie Paulson of the YouTube channel Without a Crystal Ball took to Instagram to share a post about what she uncovered in Robyn’s Etsy history: tens of thousands of purchases of supplies for a doll-collecting hobby.

“Robyn is an obsessive doll collector and has spent over $62,000 on dolls and clothes in the past 3 years according to her reviews,” Katie wrote in her post. “She’s likely spent more on dolls at other stores. $62k is only Etsy.”

Katie went on to say that at first, she thought the dolls were for Robyn’s youngest daughter, Ariella, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, according to what Robyn wrote in these reviews. “In the reviews, she discusses dressing her dolls, setting them up in chairs and scenes and describing her excitement when her female dolls find a boyfriend doll,” Katie wrote.

Robyn may have bought a custom doll made to look like her.

A photo from an Instagram post shows a doll that Robyn paid $695 to have custom made with a brunette curled hairstyle similar to the one we often see Robyn wearing on the show.

“Given her doll obsession, her hair makes perfect sense. She wants to be a doll,” Katie added. “She even purchased a piece of art that says ‘Dolls are my therapy.'”

Katie said Robyn’s Etsy reviews indicate that she’s made more than 500 transactions on Etsy in less than three years.

The Browns haven’t tried to hide their financial problems.

Fans of Sister Wives have heard more than once how close the family came to losing their land at Coyote Pass before it was paid off by the due date, and as Katie noted in her post, Kody also may have been unable to pay for his daughter Ysabel’s spinal surgery to correct her scoliosis.

Is this where all their money is going? As Collider has pointed out, the family has filed for bankruptcy multiple times, and in November, Kody and Robyn sold their Arizona home for $1.7 million after they were reportedly unable to afford it any longer.

Fans on Reddit have a lot of opinions about the situation.

In a post about the recent discovery about Robyn’s spending, one fan hypothesized that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

“She had over 620 reviews on Etsy from 2022 to today. So that’s over 600 purchases and literally every item I’ve seen has been over $100,” the person wrote. “As you can see some items are $700 like the ones shown, not including tax or shipping. (I guarantee she pays for expedited shipping – an addict needs her fix.) The junk journal she gave Meri was almost $200 and her reviews indicated she bought multiples. If her average purchase was $300 and she made 620 purchases that’s $186,000.”

Another commenter remarked on Kody’s spending habits, writing, “I’ve long thought the Browns were terrible at managing money. This just cements it. Maybe he should have paid for health insurance for his kids instead of buying clutter. For someone so obsessed with portraying he is wealthy he sure wastes a lot of it on ridiculous and selfish things. Not that I’m surprised.”

So far, Robyn has yet to share her side of the story.
