‘Sister Wives’ Star Christine Brown’s Daughter Mykelti Left Utah To Escape Family Drama

The once tight-knit family from Sister Wives hasn’t been as close as they once were in years, and it sounds like the fracture between the Browns is only getting worse. On Sunday’s new episode of the show, Christine Brown explained that her daughter, Mykelti, has decided to move across the country to get away from the drama in her family after she fought so hard to bring everyone back together again.

Mykelti and her family moved to North Carolina last year.

In the summer of 2024, Mykelti confirmed that she and her husband, Tony (and their children, Avalon, Archer, and Ace) had moved from Utah to Charlotte, where they’ve lived ever since.

They’re not the only Browns to move to North Carolina, either; Janelle and her daughter, Maddie, have also moved there, so it’s not surprising that more of their family members would make the move, too.

Christine said that her daughter is “exhausted” from the turmoil in the family.

Since Christine left her plural marriage with ex Kody Brown and was followed by two of his other wives, Janelle and Meri, the family has remained pretty fractured, especially when it comes to Kody’s relationship with his adult children.

“I know part of the reason they’re leaving is, [Mykelti] is just exhausted from trying so hard to get everybody back together again,” Christine said on the show. “Mykelti tried so hard to get the whole family back together again. She really wanted to.”

She added, “There’s a lot of her feelings and frustration and anger and resentment.”

Kody didn’t see Mykelti before she left.

Kody admitted that he wasn’t able to see Mykelti and her family before they left Utah to make their big move, but he also didn’t seem too concerned about it.

“I think most of the relationships between me and my adult children are straight,” he said while talking to the TLC cameras. “It’s an issue of trash talk and innuendo, and it has challenged loyalties and trust on all sides.”

Their move looked like a stressful one.

On Sunday’s episode, Christine and her husband, David Woolley, helped Mykelti move, but unfortunately, they all got stuck in the middle of a major storm as they made the cross-country drive — and at one point, Mykelti and Tony found themselves driving in the middle of a tornado.

They were attempting to drive through the storm, with hail cracking the windshield of their car, when the episode ended, so it sounds like we’ll have to wait ’til next week’s episode to see how they fared. That must have been so stressful, especially with three small children!
