Now that Christine Brown‘s book is in the world, her former Sister Wives family is speaking out. While appearing on the I Do Part 2 podcast, Meri Brown revealed if she’s read Christine’s book yet and how she feels about it. Since Christine didn’t exactly paint Meri in the most positive light, it wouldn’t be surprising if she wasn’t a fan.
Meri hasn’t read Christine’s book yet.
And from what she said on the podcast, it sounds like she has no plans to.
“I have not read it, and I probably won’t,” she said. “I don’t want to read it and be upset potentially at some of the things. And be like, ‘Oh, wait a second, that’s not what happened.’ Because that wouldn’t be fair.”
She acknowledged they’ve experienced their family differently.
“I can’t say that I lived it with her because my life experience was different than her life experience,” she said. “Even though they were in the same life… we had the same history. We lived the same experiences. Our perspectives are completely different.”
She added, “So, what she’s writing about is her perspective on it. And it’s 100 percent valid to her. Because in my perspective it happened different or maybe there’s a little bit of a shift.”
Christine was the first to leave husband Kody and their plural family in 2021, followed by Janelle the next year. Meri left in 2023, and now, Kody’s only remaining marriage is to Robyn.
Christine wrote about the downfall of her relationship with Meri in her book.
In the book, Christine wrote that things went downhill a long time ago after there was an altercation between Meri and Christine’s daughter, Mykelti, during a trip to a store. Mykelti came up short when she went to check out with the item she’d picked out, and Meri “lost her mind.”
“She was mad that Mykelti had embarrassed her in front of the cashier, and that she had embarrassed Leon,” Christine wrote. “She yelled at Mykelti, who couldn’t understand what she had done wrong. I couldn’t either.”
That’s when they ended their friendship, and it sounds like things were never the same between the two women after that.
