Sophie Turner Fires Back at Critics Who Shamed Her for Going Out Without Her Kids

Moms everywhere know how rare it can be to be able to get a childfree evening to go out with friends. But it’s also so important to be able to recharge and spend time away from the kids when you can get it … as long as you can handle the mom shaming that could come with it if you’re a celebrity mom, of course. Unfortunately, that’s something Sophie Turner faced firsthand, but somehow, the Game of Thrones star had the perfect comeback ready and waiting.

The drama began when Sophie took to Instagram to share photos with friends from a night out seeing Oasis in concert. It looked like she had a great night — and no, the two daughters she shares with Joe Jonas, Willa and Delphine, were nowhere to be seen.

“Bucket hats & beers … that’ll do me,” Sophie wrote in her caption.

A few days after she shared the photos from her outing, she received a snarky comment from someone calling her out for not having her children with her.

“Lmfao i think she has forgotten that she has two kids,” the person commented on Sophie’s post.

Some people would ignore a comment like that, but not Sophie. As People reported, she fired back with a comment of her own.

“Ah I’m so sorry sometimes I forget some people can’t think for themselves,” she wrote. “So … Get this …There’s this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.”

Plenty of fans jumped in to defend her, too — with one pointing out that when it comes to dads, there tends to be a double standard. “Why is no one mad that Joe leaves the kids with a nanny while he tours and parties? Hmmm? Maybe go yell at him for a while,” one commenter wrote.

Sophie does have a point — on the days her children is with their dad, is she supposed to stay home? And even if she did have her kids, it’s not unheard of to get a babysitter and go out … especially since concerts like this aren’t usually kid friendly and take place after most children are in bed for the night.

Good for her for standing up for herself. It looks like the concert was a lot of fun!
