Tallulah Willis Defends Mom Demi Moore After Speculation She Snubbed Kylie Jenner at the Golden Globes

With how quickly news spreads on social media, it’s no wonder that certain moments between celebrities end up getting misconstrued at times – especially because videos don’t necessarily tell the whole story. After Demi Moore appeared to snub Kylie Jenner at Sunday’s Golden Globe Awards, one of her daughters is speaking out to explain what really happened.

The awkward moment from the Golden Globes has been going viral.

Here, we can see Demi approach the table where Kylie was sitting with boyfriend TimothĂ©e Chalamet. Demi is in the process of gushing to Elle Fanning, who was seated at the same table, when Kylie congratulates her for winning a Golden Globe. Demi appears to give her a quick “Thank you” and goes back to her conversation with Elle, ignoring whatever it was that Kylie said next.

Demi then moves on to talk to Timothée, who is seated on the other side of Kylie, while Kylie looks a bit crestfallen.

The moment has been getting a lot of attention online.

Fans who saw the video immediately assumed Demi was ignoring her intentionally. One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “Imagine sitting at a table with two other women and Demi Moore comes and tells only them that they look beautiful (while pointing and saying ‘you two’).”

Another tweeted, “Kylie is at a work event with her partner like normal people do every day. There’s always an excuses for rudeness when ya’ll dislike someone. This wouldn’t be said about a Drs gf at his annual work party. Demi’s action was weird.”

Now, Demi's daughter is setting the record straight.

Tallulah Willis – one of the daughters Demi shares with ex Bruce Willis – took to her Instagram Stories on Monday to explain what was actually happening in the moment the video was taken. Though her post has since expired, Page Six captured a screenshot of Tallulah’s message, where she said she was “nipping this in the bud.”

According to Tallulah, the family has a close relationship with Elle.

“We spent new year with Elle, so connecting with her after a win was a very organic thing to do, this angel was in total shock and delight and moving throughout a warm room of well wishers,” Tallulah wrote. “There was not [a] snub of any sort, had she seen KJ wanting to congratulate her she would have fully given her the time and space. Literally just give it all a break and let a gal enjoy her accomplishments!”

It was a big night for Demi.

Of course, winning an award is a big deal under any circumstances, but in Demi’s case, it was the first major industry award she’d ever won for her acting – and after a career like the one she’s had, it’s hard to believe she hasn’t been honored in this way before. It was certainly a long time coming!

“Woke up this morning still in shock but full of so much joy, love, and gratitude for this honor and recognition,” Demi wrote in an Instagram post on Monday. “I am so deeply humbled and the little girl in me is saying F— YEAH!”
