Taylor Frankie Paul Admits Her Struggle With Co-Parenting

Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Taylor Frankie Paul is getting real about co-parenting with her ex Dakota Mortensen. She shared a post in her Instagram Stories after Easter in April 2025, which was then shared on Reddit, where she admitted how “suffocating” it is to co-parent instead of having her kids 100 percent of the time.

In addition to co-parenting with Dakota, Frankie has two kids with her ex-husband Tate Paul. Now that Frankie co-parents with two different men, she has to come to terms with the fact that there will be times when she is home without any of her children. For her, it’s not easy. Trust her harshest critics to come out of the woodwork, however, because after she opened up about it on Instagram, users shared their thoughts on Reddit.

In Taylor’s Instagram Stories, she posted an image of herself with text on the screen to share her feelings about the negative aspects of co-parenting. Which, according to her, is everything about the arrangement she has with both of her exes. On the screen, Taylor wrote, “This week felt suffocating to complete silence. Three years deep and still just as painful. My heart goes out to co parents. It’s brutal on holidays.”

Although it’s unclear just what the schedule is that Taylor keeps with her exes, who are also the fathers of her three kids, her post makes it sound as if both Dakota and Tate had the children she shares with them for the week leading up to Easter. Before The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives premiered on Hulu, Taylor was embroiled in a Mormon swinger scandal that rocked social media and involved her now ex-husband Tate.

After that, she shared the highs and lows of her relationship with Dakota on the show. Outside of the series, Taylor and Dakota split up, per People. They share one child they had together before things went south. In addition, it appears, Taylor intends to keep things platonic with Dakota despite their spotty past.

‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ fans have thoughts about her parenting woes.

After Taylor shared her post in her Instagram Stories, someone shared it to Reddit, where users commented on Taylor’s co-parenting commentary with opinions of their own. According to one user in the thread, “It’s hard to feel bad for someone who had a child ON PURPOSE with a man she DIDNT WANT TO BE WITH LONG TERM.”

Another Redditor replied, “Exactly she thinks it’s concerning to rush into a marriage but rushing to have a baby with him wasn’t. You don’t trust a fentanyl addict enough to marry him which is valid I will give her that. But wanted to have a baby with him wasn’t the baby a way to test him???”

But there are others who seem to back Taylor’s woes when it comes to co-parenting, even if some believe she knew what she was getting herself into.

“Depression is also common, doesn’t mean it doesn’t suck,” a Redditor commented on the thread. “Something can be common and still suck for the person experiencing it, cmon.”

Another shared, in Taylor’s defense, “Just because co parenting is common, does not mean it is easy.”
