Taylor Swift Fan’s Photo of a Baby on the Floor of Paris Eras Tour Concert Goes Viral

Everyone parents their children differently, including when it comes to attending events like concerts – but this situation is a bit baffling. After a photo went viral showing a baby on the floor of the general admission pit of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, fans were outraged, and now, the arena where the concert was held is responding with a statement about it. We have a lot of questions, starting with how (and why) did this even happen?!

The Eras Tour is back from break.

Taylor resumed the Eras Tour in Europe on Thursday, May 9, with a concert held at La Défense Arena in Paris. Unlike the US leg of the tour, this venue offered general admission on the floor — some highly coveted spots for concertgoers hoping to get as close as they can to Taylor.

It also offered the opportunity, however, for something pretty strange to happen.

A disturbing photo from one of the Paris concerts has been circulating online.

In a photo making the rounds on X (formerly Twitter) that appears to have been taken at the May 10 concert, we can see an infant on the ground of the general admission section. The baby is lying on a furry purple jacket and is surrounded by empty drink cups, concert merchandise bags, and, of course, plenty of people.

Immediately, this choice drew backlash.

Fellow fans from all over the world have been voicing their concerns for this baby's safety, including parents.

"I have a 7 month old and I couldn’t imagine bringing him to the concert with me, let alone putting him on the FLOOR to sleep. As a new parent myself I try so hard not to judge/criticize other new (or maybe not new) parents but wtf guys, cmon," one person tweeted.

Another person wrote, "No cause people always call you selfish when you say you don't want kids but this is exactly why I know I can't bear that responsibility. If you're not ready to prioritize your child's needs before your own then you shouldn't be having kids !!!"

Some people are speaking up in the parents' defense.

A witness at the concert tweeted to share what was happening, writing, "I was standing next to this baby and she was perfectly safe the whole time. Your picture doesn’t even show the section we were in. Everyone needs to calm down."

A rep for the arena has released a statement on the situation.

Speaking to Page Six, the rep shared that the "general terms and conditions of sale stipulate that all minors (without any age limit) holding a ticket for a concert at Paris La Défense arena must be accompanied by an adult."

The statement continued, "Under 18 children remain under their legal guardian responsibility, it’s venue policy. For spectators with a young child in the floor, an alternative seating arrangement has been proposed but refused by ticket holders."
