Taylor Swift fans have spent more than a year trying to figure out when she’s finally going to release Reputation (Taylor’s Version), and now, it seems like the drop is more imminent than ever. On Monday’s new episode of The Handmaid’s Tale, Swifties got to hear the rerecorded version of “Look What You Made Me Do” for the very first time, and it’s totally sent fans into a frenzy.
The show’s official Instagram account hinted that this was coming.
The official Handmaid’s Tale account shared a photo of two of the show’s stars, Elisabeth Moss and Bradley Whitford, at Taylor’s Eras Tour.
“Fun fact: The cast of #TheHandmaidsTale are proud Swifties. Episode 9 drops at 12am ET / 9pm PT! Are you ready for it?” read the caption on the post.
‘Look What You Made Me Do’ was heard for the first time on this week’s new episode.
This wasn’t announced ahead of time, so hearing Taylor’s rerecorded version of the song at midnight on a Monday came as a huge surprise to so many fans – especially at a time when there seem to be a lot of clues popping up everywhere that Rep (TV) could be coming soon.
Elisabeth Moss was just as excited about the song being part of the new episode as fans were.
Talking to Billboard, Elisabeth said that this moment was a long time coming.
“I’ve been wanting to use a Taylor song for many years on the show and we finally found the perfect spot for a track from her, and I’m so glad we waited because there could not be a more perfect song for a more perfect moment,” she said.
“Taylor has been such an inspiration to me personally. As a Swiftie myself, and I think I can speak for [co-star] Yvonne [Strahovski] and our entire cast as well, who are all Swifties, it’s such an honor to be able to use her music in the final episodes of our show,” she continued.
Swifties are going wild.

It practically goes without saying that this was an exciting moment for fans, especially because almost the entire song can be heard in the episode.
Judging by the reactions on X, fans are thrilled with it. One even pointed out that it “sounds better and clearer than the original.”
Others pointed out how perfect it was for the show.
“Taylor releasing ‘Look What You Made Me Do (TV)’ for The Handmaid’s Tale is so iconic,” one fan wrote on X. “Nothing says ‘female rage meets copyright revenge’ like June Osborne and Taylor Swift linking arms and burning the patriarchy.”
