Taylor Swift and Blake Lively were once inseparable, but as the trial involving Blake’s It Ends With Us costar Justin Baldoni continues to play out on the public stage, their formerly close friendship may be dead and buried. According to what an insider told The Daily Mail this week, things have gotten so bad between them that Taylor reportedly wishes she and Blake had never met.
Taylor’s friendship with Blake may as well be over.
“Right now, if Taylor had one wish, it would be that she never met Blake,” a source told the Daily Mail this week. “Although there have been good times during their relationship, the issues now concerning the Baldoni case have outweighed them.”
Earlier this month, Taylor was subpoenaed in Blake’s very public legal drama involving Justin after she accused her costar of sexual harassment. In text messages filed by Justin’s lawyer, Blake referred to Taylor as one of her “dragons” who would defend her if needed.
The Justin Baldoni drama was the last straw.
The source told Daily Mail that Taylor is now seeing the “red flags” in their friendship that she missed along the way.
“Taylor’s relieved the relationship is over,” the insider continued. “She put up with Blake’s antics for too long because she’s a loyal friend. It took the ‘It Ends With Us’ drama to finally get her to pull the trigger on it.”
Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, isn’t happy either.
Just weeks ago, Travis unfollowed Blake’s husband Ryan Reynolds on Instagram, which made headlines at the time, and now it appears the move was intentional.
“Taylor and Travis are disgusted with Blake and Ryan and how they tried to use Taylor in their fight against Justin Baldoni,” the source added. “They’re vowing their break from the acting couple is permanent.”
Justin’s subpoena to Taylor has been dropped.
On Thursday, a representative for Blake confirmed in a statement to People that Justin’s legal team withdrew their subpoena for Taylor.
“The Baldoni and Wayfarer team have tried to put Taylor Swift, a woman who has been an inspiration for tens of millions across the globe, at the center of this case since day one,” read the statement. “Exploiting Taylor Swift’s celebrity was the original plan in Melissa Nathan’s scenario planning document, and it continues to this day. Faced with having to justify themselves in federal court, they folded. At some point they will run out of distractions from the actual claims of sexual harassment and retaliation they are facing.”
