Now that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially married, they seem to be dealing with some unexpected challenges. The newlyweds sound happy overall. After all, during Kansas City Chiefs training camp on August 12, Travis told reporters that his wedding night was “the best night of (his) life.”
Their pets, however, are reportedly less than thrilled about this major life change. In case you weren’t aware, Taylor is a proud cat lady with three furry friends: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button. Meanwhile, Travis has been spotted with a fluffy white dog. Although it’s possible that Taylor and Travis adopted the dog together, the cats are allegedly not happy about sharing their space with the pup.
It’s “an adjustment period,” for sure.
Not really for Taylor and Travis, though. Just for the cats and the dog. According to a new report from commentator Rob Shuter, the dog (whose name has not been confirmed) has an overwhelming amount of energy that the cats haven’t gotten used to yet.
“The dog wants to play every minute of the day, while the cats want peace, quiet, and personal space,” a source told Rob.
Another insider said, “Taylor and Travis are doing great. Ironically, it’s the animals having the hardest time blending their families. The humans figured it out much faster.”
Of course, this is really not all that surprising. Introducing pets to each other can be a major challenge. Luckily, although the fur babies still have some adjusting to do, it doesn’t sound serious.
They tolerate each other, at least.
Taylor’s cats might be set in their ways (and a tad bit skeptical of their highly energetic sibling), but it’s reportedly not at the point where the pets can’t be in the same room. They manage to coexist and probably just need some more time to get used to each other.
“Nobody is worried,” one source claimed. “They all end up in the same room eventually. It may not be cuddling yet, but they’re making progress every week.”
There’s been a lot of interest in their dog, even if the cats don’t seem interested.
While Taylor’s cats prefer to keep their distance from their new sibling, the internet is invested. Lots of rumors about the fluffy dog have emerged online after Page Six published photos of Travis and the pooch traveling together.
As people wait for Taylor and Travis to confirm the dog’s name, a report from DeuxMoi has claimed that the dog’s name is Wendy.
A source also told Star that Taylor and Travis had considered getting a dog together for “a long time,” but they saw it as a major “commitment” and a “huge step” in their relationship.
In spite of the alleged issues between their cats and their dog, getting another pet has reportedly brought them closer together.
“Dogs definitely take more work than cats do, but they’re loving it,” Star‘s source said. “Caring for their pup has really reinforced what a great team they are and made their bond that much deeper.”
And maybe Meredith, Olivia, and Benjamin will come around too.
