Taylor Swift Has Been ‘Very Supportive’ of New Kansas City Chiefs Docuseries, ‘The Kingdom’

There’s never been a better time to explore the phenomenon of the Kansas City Chiefs franchise than now, when all eyes are on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift as the tight end begins his 13th season with the NFL team. And now, a new ESPN docuseries called The Kingdom is doing just that — and all with Taylor’s total support. If anyone knows what it’s like to be followed by cameras, it’s her!

Taylor is “very supportive” of the new docuseries.

According to People, director Kristen Lappas said that not only is Taylor “very supportive” of the series, but she also “approved all of her image and likeness” to be used in it, so fans will get to see her in parts of The Kingdom as she became a part of the story.

The filmmakers didn’t pursue an interview with Taylor for the series, though, since they wanted to keep the focus on the team.

“Now you see her in the way that I think is how she wanted to be seen, which is as a fan of the community,” Chiefs CMO Lara Krug said.

The team talks about her showing up to one of their games for the first time.

In one clip from series that has been circulating online, Travis’ teammates Patrick Mahomes and Chris Jones talked about what it was like when Taylor attended a game for the very first time.

“We were in the locker room like, ‘Taylor Swift’s here.’ ‘Taylor Swift? For real? With Travis? Oh my God!'” Chris said. “We were like, ‘Oh my God! Travis pulled Taylor Swift.'”

Patrick added, “You could see people in the stadium gravitating to where she was at. At the same time, we had business to handle.”

Travis’ parents had nothing but positive things to say about her at the series’ premiere.

At the premiere of the docuseries, Travis’ dad Ed Kelce told People that “there’s no question” Travis’ happiness these days comes from Taylor.

Meanwhile, Travis’ mom Donna Kelce gushed about Taylor’s appearance on his New Heights podcast, saying, “It was authentic. It was just something I think everybody was thrilled to see, and it was a very loving podcast.”

The Kingdom is now streaming.

Every episode of The Kingdom is now streaming on ESPN+. Whether you’re a new football fan who was introduced to the Chiefs by Taylor (and by virtue of being a Swiftie) or a longtime NFL devotee, it sounds like this docuseries has a little something for everyone.
