People Get The ‘Ick’ After Seeing Taylor Swift’s Wedding Props

Swifties might be the most dedicated fans on Earth, but Taylor Swift has plenty of haters. So when she married Travis Kelce in a grand spectacle at Madison Square Garden, the details of which have trickled out slowly but surely, you’d better believe that anti-Swifties were ready to make fun of every creative decision that TayTay made.

And in one TikTok that was shared after the nuptials, there are elaborate set pieces and props that were apparently used to set the scene for the mega star and her former NFL star hubby. While some fans might be wondering how magical and romantic the decor was when it was all put together, others were a little (OK, a lot) less diplomatic with their assessments.

Taylor Swift’s wedding decor and props are questionable.

In the video, forklifts carry out large decorations with ornate designs that make it seem like Taylor had a fairytale style wedding at MSG. It might not be the ideal location for such a wedding, but hey, it seems to be where the singer felt she might get the best shot at ultimate privacy. The decor is what some of her critics have clung to, though, even seeing it in pieces after being removed from the venue.

“I have the ick so bad,” one user commented on the TikTok.

Another wrote, “It’s giving Santa’s workshop at the mall.”

From the swirly design carved into some pieces to the color palette, that’s not the worst description of what seems to be Taylor’s general theme for her wedding. At the time of the video, she didn’t come out to share any photos to confirm that the pieces were in fact from her ceremony, but that’s the overall assumption right now.

Someone else commented, “If I was mega rich I’d be having an enchanted forest wedding like ferngully somewhere truly private away from public city life…She treated this just like a concert.”

“It’s giving high school theatre production props,” a commenter added. Ouch.

To the same tune, someone else wrote, “Stop hating she is just 37teen.”

Someone said she had a Taylor Swift-themed wedding.

In another TikTok about Travis and Taylor’s wedding, someone shared alleged handkerchiefs that were handed out as favors. The fabric has the couple’s names embroidered on it with the date and “So it’s gonna be forever,” the latter in reference to one of Taylor’s songs. This led someone to comment that the singer essentially had a Taylor Swift-themed wedding.

Even Swifties have to admit that this is what the decor and detail are giving. And hey, maybe that was the right move for Travis and Taylor. Her fans likely ate up every little crumb and detail that came out following the lead-up to the mystery surrounding the MSG wedding. But that also means Taylor’s haters have more ammo.

There are also theories about how Taylor Swift will announce her divorce.

No one is saying that Travis and Taylor are headed for divorce already, and even those who don’t love Taylor aren’t rooting for the end of the pair. But some people think they know how Taylor would market her divorce someday, should the marriage end.

Someone commented on the TikTok to theorize, “No one is talking about how they picked those lyrics from ‘Blank Space’ so when they get divorced, she can market it with ‘or it’s gonna go down in flames’ and she got married on Fourth of July weekend, so her divorce album will be called ‘Independence Day.'”
