Kailyn Lowry, a Teen Mom alumni, was supposed to be surrounded by wedding bells and walking down the aisle soon, but that’s on hold for now. The 32-year-old New York Times bestselling author is opening up about her decision to postpone her wedding to fiancé Elijah Scott. The couple’s intentions were to get married in September 2024, but things are on pause for now as the mother prioritizes something a little more important right now that involves her 10-year-old son, Lincoln Marshall Marroquin, whom she shares with ex-husband Javi Marroquin.

She's got a lot going on right now.
In an exclusive interview with E! News, Kailyn revealed that Lincoln got invited to play soccer in Spain. “There’s just so much happening,” she said. “I was like, ‘OK, we need to focus on that right now and then we’ll revisit the wedding date situation when we get back.”
Kailyn is adamant on two specific months for her wedding.
“Anyone that knows me knows that I’m very weird about my dates,” the mother said. “When we get married, it would have to be April or September because there’s nothing else going on big date-wise in those months. I know that sounds sort of crazy, but I’m also sort of crazy, so it’s fine. And is just part of the chaos.”

They've put off getting married before.
Kailyn and Elijah have postponed having a wedding before. “He asked me to marry him several times and I never said no,” she said. “I was just like, ‘Yes, but not right now.'”
The couple are parents to son Rio, 21 months, and twins Valley and Verse, 8 months. In addition to Lincoln, Kailyn also shares son Isaac Elliot, 14, with her high school boyfriend Jo Rivera and son Lux Russel, 7, and Creed Romello, 4, with her ex Chris Lopez.
Kailyn is very committed to Elijah.
“I don’t know how Elijah just seamlessly folded into this chaos and he handles it so well,” Kailyn said. “I think he was like, ‘OK, if we’re going to make this work, I’m just going to do it, no questions asked and just figure it out as we go.'”
The two are 'polar opposites.'
Kailyn and Elijah work well together because they’re “polar opposites,” as she describes. “So when I’m having frantic moments or concerned about things, he’s very cool, calm and collected. It’s a really good balance. And my kids absolutely love him. So that also is a huge, huge, huge help.”
