Kailyn Lowry, former Teen Mom star, has opened up about the reason she decided to leave the reality show in 2022. During an appearance on the Just Trish podcast, the 32-year-old spoke with host Trisha Paytas about the moment she knew she had to depart from the show, and the way that her surprise pregnancy with her now fiancé Elijah Scott is ultimately what led her to walk away.

She hadn't planned on getting pregnant again.
“Yeah, I left in 2022 when I got pregnant with my fifth son because I was like, I can’t, we’re not doing this,” Kailyn shared on the podcast. “It was like, we did not plan to get pregnant. It was the first time I slept with [Elijah]. So also, that, and we had just developed a relationship. So, I was like, this is just a lot for one person.”
They share three kids together.
Elijah and Kailyn welcomed their son Rio, 1, in November 2022. In 2023, they secretly welcomed twins Verse and Valley. Kailyn is also mother to son Isaac Elliot, 14, whom she shares with Jo Rivera, 10-year-old Lincoln Marshall, whom she shares with ex-husband Javi Marroquin, and sons Lux Russell, 7, and Creed Romello, 4, whom she shares with ex Chris Lopez.

Kailyn said her podcasts were more rewarding than 'Teen Mom 2.'
Continuing on the podcast, the mother of seven revealed that she was making more money from her own podcasts, which have been “super successful,” than from Teen Mom.
“I couldn’t justify the stress that I was going through for Teen Mom,” she said. “I felt like I would give them this laundry list of things that I wanted to film, but they only wanted to talk about the relationships that I had with my kids’ dads. That’s old and tired, right? I have other drama, I can give you drama, I’ll do whatever you want, but let’s talk about it.”
She could soon have her own reality show.
Though she left Teen Mom, Kailyn isn’t over reality television entirely. In fact, she shared she could even have her own show, as she’s currently “under contract somewhere else” and just needs a network.
“So you can do your own?” Trisha asked, to which Kail replied, “Yeah, hopefully, if someone buys it. Somebody buy my show.”
Elijah isn't necessarily interested in reality TV.
Kailyn went on to explain that Elijah isn’t necessarily interested in being on TV. “I’m like, I don’t know if he should be on TV, you know what I mean? Like, I don’t know if it would be good or bad, so we’ll see,” she said.

While we miss seeing Kail on the show, it does seem like she’s much happier these days focusing on her podcasts — besides, it’s not like she doesn’t have her hands full with seven kids at home!
We’ll cross our fingers for good news about Kail’s potential show soon. It would be nice to see her on TV again.
