Those who have followed Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans’ story since the beginning know she has weathered plenty of legal woes. Additionally, the MTV personality has experienced many toxic relationships through the years. And recently, Jenelle Evans’ ex David Eason was required to wear an ankle monitor after violating a restraining order.
Jenelle and David started dating in 2015 before marrying in 2017. In 2018, they welcomed a daughter, Ensley. (Jenelle also has two sons, Jace, and Kaiser, from previous relationships.) Jenelle filed for a separation from David in early 2024 after assault allegations and years of turmoil.

In December 2024, Jenelle shared that her ex David Easton was ordered to wear an ankle monitor.
On December 13, Jenelle posted a video on TikTok detailing her “interesting” court appearance in North Carolina.
“Because I am continued to be harassed by my ex, the judge ordered that my ex wear an ankle monitor,” she explained. “And this little device will alert me if he is within 3 miles.”
The judge made the move without her having to ask for it.
“So I have a little safety net on me at all times, which feels great for me and my kids because it’s definitely what we needed,” the mom of three continued. “Without me even needing to ask the judge or say anything. So I’m really grateful for that.”
She added, “But as an extra layer of protection, there is an invisible 100-foot fence around my house, so he cannot go near my property.”
Why does David have to wear the monitor?
As Jenelle explained in the video, she has a domestic violence restraining order against her ex.
“He was ordered months ago to stay away from the property,” she told her TikTok followers. “He won’t obey by that, so now he appeared in front of the same judge that put that order in place. And he wasn’t too happy when he saw David again. And so, got protection.”

In the comments, followers lauded the decision.
Fans were happy about the judge’s decision against David.
One TikTok user declared, “This should exist for EVERY.SINGLE.PROTECTION.ORDER. If the technology is there, there is no excuse for it not to be available to everyone.”
Another agreed, writing, “They should do this for all restraining orders…this could save so many lives.”
“Lmao I love this for David 😂,” someone else commented.
Jenelle opened up in November about taking legal action against David.
“I’ve tried so hard to find peace and move forward, but David’s harassment just doesn’t stop,” she told In Touch Weekly in November. “He, his girlfriend, and their friends keep interfering in my life, and it’s affecting me and my family more than anyone realizes.
Jenelle continued, “I’m left with no choice now but to take legal action to put an end to this. I didn’t want things to go this far, but if they’re going to keep dragging me into these toxic games, I’ll see them in court. I just want to be able to heal and live in peace.”
