It sounds like the past couple of weeks have been tough for Jenelle Evans and her family. On Monday, TMZ was the first to report that the Teen Mom star’s mom, Barbara Evans, was hospitalized after suffering a stroke, and it sounds like Jenelle didn’t waste much time when it came to flying home to be by her mom’s side.
According to the outlet, Barbara’s stroke took place last week, but there is good news: Not only has she already been discharged from the hospital to rest at home, but is also expected to make a full recovery. At the time, TMZ also reported that though Jenelle has recently undergone sinus surgery, she flew home to North Carolina from Las Vegas, where she’s been living in recent years, to be with her mom as quickly as possible.
It wasn’t that long ago that Jenelle’s oldest son, Jace, returned to North Carolina to live with Barbara after he exposed Jenelle’s private text conversations with him on social media in August, and it sounds like he was there to help his grandmother recover, along with Barbara’s other daughter, Ashley, as one insider told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup.
“Jace and Ashleigh were by her side while she was hospitalized, and after she had improved enough, she was sent home. She will still require some physical therapy and things like that, but she is doing OK now. She’s not back to normal yet, though,” the source said. “Jace has been taking care of her.”
Despite TMZ‘s report, the insider claims that Barbara isn’t interested in Jenelle coming over to care for her, and emphasized that Jace will still be living with her, despite her stroke — especially since they said that Jenelle is reportedly still barred from Barbara’s property because of a no trespassing order that was previously put into place.
“As of right now, Barbara’s stroke will not change the living situation. Jace is still going to continue to live with her,” they added.
It’s not clear which intel to believe, though. After The Ashley’s article went live, Jenelle posted on X, tagging the outlet, “Oh you talking to my psychotic sister now?” before adding, “I don’t have any no contact orders against me, never have.”
So far, Barbara hasn’t shared any updates on her health herself just yet.
