Leah Messer believes her youngest daughter is having a hard time amid the legal challenges the Teen Mom star continues to have with the girl's dad, Jeremy Calvert. Leah and Jeremy were married from 2012 to 2015. In the July 25, 2024, new episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, the mother opened up to her sister, Victoria Messer, about her concerns with Addie being in the middle of all the drama.

Leah says her daughter is struggling since a harassment incident.
The 32-year-old reality TV star believes that Addie is "struggling" since Jeremy allegedly harassed Leah at work in November 2023. She filed for a protective order against her daughter's father after the incident took place.
The protective order made small changes to how custody is handled between the parents.
Since getting the protective order, Leah doesn't have contact with Jeremy when it comes to Addie seeing him. "We're doing all pass-offs between me and Jeremy's mom," she explained, noting that it's every other weekend. "And she goes to Jeremy's when he's in town, which he's not really ever in town 'cause he moved to Pennsylvania."

Leah shared Addie's emotions around the harassment incident.
"Ever since the situation with Jeremy happened, Addie has been struggling," Leah said, adding that "at first she was angry" and blaming her mom "and then she was sad."
Victoria asked, "Who knows what she's endured or heard [while] not around you?" to which Leah replied, "I probably would've never went out of my way to make sure she's seen her grandparents if I'd known that stuff was being said."
The mom notices Addie doesn't like spending time without her older sisters.
When Leah's oldest daughters, 14-year-old Aliannah and Aleeah, go to their dad Corey Simms' house, Addie often wants to tag along. "When they leave, she becomes an only child and she gets bored. But there's more to it," Leah said. "I think she sees Ali and Aleeah go there consistently."
Leah says her other daughters' dad is active.
"[Corey is] very present. We'll go to events and Corey's there," Leah added. "The last time Jeremy was at an event for Addie [was] third grade. She's in fifth grade now. You know how that feels to a kid?"
Victoria wonders how everything makes Addie feel.
According to Victoria, Addie must feel "a lot of different emotions" and question if her dad truly loves her.
"It's all these things going on in her little mind that she doesn't even know how to process," she explained. "The stuff that Addie is going through, Addie needs to go through it. She needs to face the sadness and the anger in order to get in a good place."
