There have been so many rumors lately about Prince Harry and the royals finally burying the hatchet after feuding for years, but it doesn’t sound like Meghan Markle is going to be all-in on that decision — at least, not when it comes to her step mother-in-law. A new report claims that Meghan isn’t interested in “playing nice” with Queen Camilla now or in the future since she assumes that the 78-year-old has been the villain in her story the entire time.
Meghan reportedly feels that Camilla has always been “out to get her.”
According to what a royal insider told Radar Online, Camilla has reportedly been anti-Meghan since “day one,” and she may even be one of the members of the family that Harry has hinted has tried to sabotage his wife’s reputation.
“She’s convinced Camilla has been trying to undermine her and paint her as the villain from day one and she’s adamant that she won’t open herself up to more cruelty,” the source said. “Meghan feels like Camilla has been out to get her for years, and some people within royal circles would agree.”
In recent years, it seems that things have only gotten worse between them.
Now, Meghan reportedly sees Camilla as the royal family’s “attack dog.”
“She’s been so openly critical of Meghan within their inner circle from almost the very beginning; it’s like she’s taken it upon herself to be the family attack dog and has said out loud what others might think but are too polite to actually articulate,” the source continued.
In the years since Meghan and Harry left the royal family, Camilla supposedly blames Meghan for all the conflicts that they’ve had with King Charles, and the resentment on her side of the feud has only grown in the time since the couple moved to the United States.
She won’t “start a scene,” but she won’t be happy to spend time with Camilla.
If Meghan finds herself back in the U.K. and interacting with the royals again, it doesn’t sound like she’ll be in a hurry to win Camilla over.
“Meghan is willing to be conciliatory and take the high road with a lot of people, but Camilla is a different story,” the insider said. “Meghan made a real effort with Camilla back when she was still living in the U.K. but she’s way past playing nice and kissing up to her, she has seen that gets her nowhere.”
They continued, “She’s not planning to start a scene, but she’s not going to pretend everything is fine and play nice with Camilla. If Camilla wants to keep playing dirty Meghan is ready to hit back.”
If Meghan and Harry do come back soon, good luck to Camilla — it doesn’t sound like that reunion is going to go very smoothly.
