Since her 2022 split from ex-husband Cory Hardrict, it seems like Tia Mowry‘s entire life has changed big time — including in ways she hasn’t talked about until now. On her new reality series Tia Mowry: My Next Act, the former Sister, Sister star revealed that she lost her virginity to Cory at the age of 25, so now that she’s starting over, dating is all brand-new to her.

Tia made the surprising confession during the premiere of her new show.
As Tia explained on the show, she wasn’t allowed to date until she was 18, so when she met Cory, she was new to the world of relationships.
“I met Cory when I turned 20 and I lost my virginity at 25. There, I said it! And then we got married! Boom!” she told the cameras during a confessional clip.
Tia admitted she has 'never dated.'
On the episode, Tia is chatting with her friends as they’re all drinking wine. In one clip, she admitted that Cory was “my first everything.”
This means that when she gets back out there, she’s really getting back out there — and of course, after 15 years of marriage, that’s going to be a huge adjustment for anyone, regardless of how much relationship experience they might have.
Fans have a lot of thoughts about Tia's confession.
“This reminds me of the ‘do everything to right way’ narrative. Tia met someone, fell in love, lost her virginity to the man who became her husband, and had his children just to be divorced by 45. Stop putting these pressures on women, that aren’t given to men,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Another person tweeted, “It’s hard losing your first everything, but Tia will be ok in this new chapter.”

Last year, Tia revealed that she has started dating again.
In August 2023, Tia shared a video on Instagram as she got ready to go on a date.
“Fun Fact: I’ve never been on the dating scene my entire life. So when I tell you I’m nervous and terrified of doing this whole dating thing, I mean it,” she wrote. “Even though I’m in my 40’s, I feel so inexperienced!”
She has recently said that she's 'having the time of my life' right now.
In an interview with New Beauty that was published this week, Tia talked about her excitement to share this part of her life with the world.
“Having been in the public eye for most of my life, things often get misinterpreted, or people get misled. I am excited to pull back the curtain on this next chapter of my life,” she said. “Im ready to date, I’m ready to take my businesses to the next level, and I’m ready to find out what really makes me happy. I’m ready to be the most genuine version of myself.”
