It’s been years since the Duggar family was featured on reality TV, and now, it looks like TLC might be replacing them with a new family. This month, the network will premiere a new special called Big Family, Big City which features another oversized, conservative family who could end up taking the Duggars’ place as TLC’s reigning big family.

The family is starring in a new one-hour special.

Big Family, Big City focuses on parents Marc and Amber de La Motte and their 11 children – a conservative family similar to the Duggars.
“Recently relocating from the peaceful suburbs of San Diego to the vibrant streets of Harlem, NY, Mark and Amber have quickly discovered that raising 11 kids in the Big Apple is not for the faint of heart,” reads TLC’s description of the series, per Collider. “As they juggle their growing family, a new lifestyle, and the challenges of busking together on the streets, the de la Mottes are finding that the fast-paced city life is both exhilarating and overwhelming.”
The family already has a big Instagram following.
Amber de La Motte has over 224,000 followers on Instagram, so there’s no doubt plenty of them will be tuning in for the series. On her account, the mom of 11 shares her family’s daily life and experiences performing music together. Her children range in age from Josiah, who is a senior at the Manhattan School of Music, to baby Neta, who is 6 months old.
This family has a lot of talent, too – two of Amber and Marc’s older children attend The Julliard School, a performing arts conservatory in New York City.

The family is pretty different from the Duggars.
Not only do their oldest children seem to be encouraged to seek higher education, but both Amber and Marc also have pretty traditional jobs. Marc is a graphic designer, while Amber runs the family’s social media accounts, though she told The Cut that the family has been struggling to make ends meet.
“My goal for anything that I make online is, we’re paying rent, we’re paying for food,” she said. “The rent’s paid, the heat’s on. The thought of being able to cover the kids’ music too? That would just be huge. I wouldn’t be buying a Ferrari, I’d be buying violins.”
The special premieres on February 25 on TLC.
This trailer will give you a taste of what to expect, but if viewers fall in love with the de la Mottes, it wouldn’t be surprising at all to find out that they were given their own series sometime soon.
We could truly be looking at the next big family franchise for TLC. Duggars who?
