There’s certainly something to be said about those silly social media trends that everyone loves to post on their page just to get people talking. For some, it’s the whole Netflix documentary sit-down trend that works to highlight some kind of secret or scandal. Others enjoy using music to recreate a trend that perhaps is better getting lost in everyone’s algorithms.
Little People, Big World star, Tori Roloff, recently shared a TikTok that immediately put some people off. It’s best just to watch on your own and form an opinion, but the entire video begs the question about whether or not things like this should be taken as a lighthearted joke or is it perpetuating the extremely weird idea of mothers competing with their daughters for their husband’s love and attention.

If you’ve ever wondered to yourself if you should upload one of the semi annoying social media video trends that have been making their rounds, this whole thing might just teach you to save your energy.
Reality TV star and mom of three, Tori Roloff, shared a TikTok recently that’s left a rather sour taste in a lot of people’s mouths. The reel starts with Tori’s husband, Zach, snuggling on the sofa under a blanket with one of their young daughters only for Tori to stumble upon them both.
The song that’s playing in the background pretty says it all. The lyrics work to perfectly spell out the overall theme. When Tori comes onto the scene and pulls out her little one’s legs to remove her from her husband’s side so she can snuggle right in with him, Tori can be seen lip synching the lyrics that say, “Girl, I aint trynna be mean, but before you there was me.”
Basically, it’s likely a very tongue-in-cheek situation that most people were hopefully going to get a giggle out of, but that was not the case.
Some people immediately found this video to be ‘weird’ and ‘creepy.’
For a lot of people in the TikTok comments section, this video simply didn’t land.
There were several comments from people who were actually pretty weirded out by the whole thing. One person wrote, “This is weird and sad.” Another individual shared their thoughts by commenting, “nah this weird.” Another decided to call out the entire trend by stating, “im sorry this trend is just creepy af.”
There was another person in the comments who said, “I have some questions 😳😳😳😳.” What they meant here can be left up for interpretation. A couple of others felt the need to call out how there are some mothers out there who tend to get jealous of their children and their partners spending time together without them. It’s a very strange thing to try and fully wrap your mind around, but it does exist.
One person shared, “This weird. Unfortunately there are jealous moms out there over their OWN kids tf.” Another individual seemed to be thinking along those same lines. “I see my little girl snuggling with my husband and it makes my heart so happy that she has such a good Daddy. Why would I want to interrupt that? This is strange,” they wrote.
There were a few people who appreciated the joke & jumped to Tori’s defense.
Are there some people out there who need to ‘touch grass’ as the kids say and not take things so seriously? For as many online trolls there appears to be calling Tori out, there are also some who are coming to her defense.
One person in the TikTok comments noted that things like this really don’t need to be taken that seriously. “omfg these comments man…like literally it’s just a tiktok and playing around as a family….having fun joking. good lord everything is so personal these days,” they wrote.
Another person shared, “As a mom when my toddler sees me and her daddy cuddling she comes lay with us. The hate comments are weird. All I see is a loving family 🫶🏻.” Another individual commented, “I’m pretty sure the joke is that he is a father now and his time and attention is now spent on his daughter and not his wife…. And anyone making into something it’s not is disgusting.”
For anyone who was taking things to a whole other level with their interpretation of this video, someone shared their thoughts on the matter. They wrote, “This is not weird at all. She’s not at all sexualizing the cuddles, she’s just telling her daughter to go somewhere so she can get cuddles too. Anyone being weird about this should really be questioning themselves.”
