Ever thought about what entertainment icon Cher's home would look like? We definitely have! Every eye-catching, eccentric costume she's worn has led us to believe Cher's home would be equally as extravagant — and her former Miami mansion doesn't disappoint. The Miami Beach pad the undeniably flashy entertainer used to call home is totally breathtaking.
The six-bedroom, eight-bathroom home recently sold for a hefty $17 million and from the looks of it, it's worth every penny. Believe it or not, Cher is actually known in the real estate world for decorating and flipping houses.
Located in the ritzy La Gorce Island in Miami Beach, and apparently it was once much more Cher-like back in the 1990s when she owned it, but it has since been transformed into a minimalist Moorish masterpiece.
The sprawling three-story home is over 11,000-square-feet and features a unique two-story living room and plenty of wide windows and open archways from which to take in the incredible ocean views. It even has a private dock, complete with seating area, that can accommodate a 150-foot yacht. Talk about luxury! Take a look inside the incredible former Miami home of the legendary Cher.
Impressive Image
The bayfront La Gorce Island home cuts a seriously impressive image from nearly every viewpoint. It's Moorish architecture is classic Miami and while it's surrounded by the city's signature towering palm trees, it's not shrouded in them, which makes for curb appeal that truly shows off the home itself.
Perfect Location
The home's exclusive La Gorce Island location overlooks the Biscayne Bay and Miami's famous skyline, far from the hustle and bustle of South Beach, but still close enough to everything to enjoy the vibrant city, including its nightlife, beaches, and foodie scene. Plus, the views are stunning.
Pristine Garden
The home's gardens are absolute pristine. They are decorative and well-maintained, but not overly sculpted. The outdoor areas look welcoming and incredibly well-kept. We also really love how beautifully the stone walkways complement the home's facade and help it to maintain a traditional appearance without looking dated.
Spa-Style
The home's pool area is absolutely idyllic. The yard has an incredible spa-like vibe with a large, heated lap-pool, a sizeable spa, and an outdoor cabana with a full bath. On one side of the swimming pool is a stone deck and on the other a long, grassy area that's adjacent to the bay. From the pool, there's an impressive view of the city beyond.
Fun & Games
With so much square footage, we're not surprised the owner made space for a game room. It reminds us a lot of a country club, but the view of course, is far superior. We love all the massive windows and glass doors that lead directly to the beautiful lawn and overlook the water.
Cozy Living
While much of the home is a bit imposing simply because of its scale, the family room is ultra-cozy and looks like an ideal place to cuddle up with kids for a family movie night. There's still the pretty arched doorways and authentic-looking tile floors, but the smaller space and oversized furniture makes it feel homey.
Excellent for Entertaining
Alternately, there's also a more formal living room that looks ideal for entertaining guests and larger groups. The space features arched doorways to the outdoors, beamed ceilings and plenty of seating for guests. We love the minimalist but artsy decor and mix-and-match furniture.
Great Room
That living room actually seems to be a part of a larger great room, and we must say it looks like an incredible space. There's a beautiful wide staircase with a wrought-iron railing and an entryway with massive arches framing the living room and the Biscayne Bay beyond. It's so pretty!
Functional Kitchen
This kitchen looks like a kitchen for someone who loves to cook. It's beautiful, but looks super-functional and the tile floor reminds us of old-fashioned European kitchens. The giant island complete with sink looks like a perfect work surface and all of the appliances appear to be professional grade. Plus, there is so much storage space!
Artsy Dining Room
This dining room is a bit on the bare bones side, but still manages to be quite striking. It actually reminds us a bit of what someone might see in a modern art museum. The furniture is sculptural and offset by the white walls — it looks like it's on display. And then of course, there's that view.
Outdoor Life
One of the home's most beautiful spaces is undoubtedly this covered terrace. The plank ceilings and the incredible ornate arches overlooking the water are absolutely picturesque. Whether sipping a cocktail in the evening or enjoying an afternoon nap, it seems like the perfect spot to indulge in some relaxation.
Tastefully Ornate
We're kind of obsessed with this fireplace. It is so unusual. The fireplace and the surrounding built-ins are ornate, but still incredibly tasteful. Painting everything white makes the space feel modern, clean and cozy while still maintaining the home's original character. The little painted cabinets are so cute and give everything a personalized touch.
Master Bedroom Perfection
This master suite looks designed for the most restful sleep ever. It is incredibly spacious and features dark hardwood floors, windowed doors that span an entire wall's length, and space for both a massive bed and huge sectional sofa. We even spy a desk off to the side. Just imagine waking up to that view!
Bathroom Fit for a Queen
Wow! The home's master bathroom is massive. We almost don't even want to call it a bathroom. It's more like a spa or a dressing room. But then again, the home also has a 300-square-foot walk-in closet, so we guess this really is the bathroom. With that chaise, it almost seems like the owner could host visitors in here.
Soaking Tub
Just take a look at this bathtub. This space is honestly much more like an in-home spa than a regular bathroom. It's so beautiful and tranquil, it's almost hard to believe that someone really lives here. That bathtub looks like it could legit fit an entire family of four in it at once.
