It wasn’t until Taylor Swift made her first appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game in September 2023 that the world found out she and Travis Kelce were dating. But according to one person who claims to be in the know, their relationship started a lot earlier than that. Travis Kelce‘s neighbor says he and Taylor were actually dating for months before they took their relationship public.

During an appearance on The Social Game Podcast podcast this week, Wes Bergmann – who has appeared on shows like The Traitors and Worst Cooks in America – opened up about being Travis’ next door neighbor, describing him as an “enigma.”
“On one hand, he’s like this big, tough football player. On the other, he’s going to have about 12 Taylor Swift songs written about him,” he said.
Wes also claimed that he was the “first person to know about any of this stuff,” adding, “I beat the validating of her showing up to games and stuff by like six months.”
Although Wes and the podcast’s hosts, Kellie Nalbandian and Michele Fitzgerald, agreed that Taylor has dated “womanizers” in the past, they also mentioned that Travis is nothing like her past boyfriends. So far, that certainly seems to be a good thing.

If Wes is right about that six-month timeline, that would put Taylor and Travis’ relationship beginning sometime around March 2023, but given that Taylor still appeared to be dating Matty Healy of The 1975 at that time, it seems he might be a bit off.
As People pointed out, Taylor herself told Time in December 2023 that she and Travis started dating after he mentioned her on his New Heights podcast that July.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as h—,” she told the magazine. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple.”
