Travis Kelce Regrets Starring in a Reality Dating Show Before Meeting Taylor Swift

These days, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce seems very happily coupled up with Taylor Swift, but that wasn't always the case. In fact, about seven years ago, Travis was the star of his own reality TV dating show called Catching Kelce and made headlines for being one of the most eligible bachelors in the NFL. But now that he's grown up and his life is so different these days, it sounds like he has a few regrets, based on what he's said about the show in the years since.

The show is now streaming on Peacock.

Given Travis' popularity these days, it's no surprise that the series, which spanned seven episodes, is streaming again.

On the show, Travis enlisted the help of brother Travis Kelce and friend Aaron Eanes in narrowing down a pool of women as they all lived in a mansion together and went on dates. In the end, he chose Maya Benberry as his winner, but the relationship didn't last long.

Travis has admitted that he did the show because he was low on cash at the time.

As Vanity Fair has pointed out in a new story about everything that Travis has said about Catching Kelce, in an appearance on a podcast called The Pivot in 2023, he admitted that he really needed the money between NFL seasons.

"I was having so much fun buying whatever the h— I wanted to, going wherever the h— I wanted to. I wasn’t financially looking at this as, you know, I need to have money down the line. There were times in the offseason, I was avoiding the rent lady. It was that bad," he said. "I heard about this situation where I could make six figures in two weeks, and I was like, Uhhh. And 50 ladies? I’m like, 'This is actually starting to sound a little better.'"

His ex from the show doesn't have positive things to say, either.

In fact, last year, Maya told The Daily Mail that she wished she could warn Taylor about him.

"Taylor seems like such a fun girl with a beautiful spirit, so I wish her the best of luck, but I wouldn’t be a girl’s girl if I didn’t advise her to be smart," she said. "Only time will tell, but like the saying always goes, once a cheater, always a cheater."

To be fair, though, sources close to Travis denied her claims to TMZ.

Travis wants everyone to forget about the show.

Vanity Fair also pointed out that on an episode of his New Heights podcast that aired last year, sister-in-law Kylie Kelce said she'd warned him against doing the show, even though she and Travis had only just met at the time.

"What a time. Let’s all forget about it," Travis said.

We have to wonder if Taylor has watched the show.

And if so, what did she think about it? We could listen to an entire rewatch podcast of her sharing her commentary … you know, when her schedule settles down after the Eras Tour comes to an end.

This definitely seems like something Jason still teases him about to this day!
