There is no denying that those who support Donald Trump and those who supported the Joe Biden administration are each quick to point out anything even slightly wrong that comes out of the mouths of the other side. So when Trump misspoke about Biden during a speech about the US Army’s 250th anniversary, his critics were quick to point out on social media how wrong he was.
After the clip was posted, as they so often are, people mocked Trump for his awkward turn of phrase in trying to speak negatively about Biden. The fact that Trump used the opportunity to speak about his own agenda is besides the point, but those who do not support him pointed that out too on social media. For many, all that’s missing from the roasting session on X (formerly Twitter) is marshmallows.

People were quick to mock Trump after he misspoke about Biden.
In the clip, Trump says, “And by the way, I’ve known this guy for a long time. He was never the sharpest bulb” in reference to Biden. He also says Biden was “never a radical left lunatic” who “dreamt about open borders.”
The rest of the sentence was lost on many, though, when they realized Trump meant to say “sharpest tool in the shed” or something similar. Except, of course, that’s not what he said at all.
“Such a buffoon,” someone commented on the X post.
Another person wrote, “Trump is without a doubt the stupidest son of a [b—] ever to be president and the fools that like him are even dumber than he is.”
Others pointed out the hypocrisy in Trump previously poking fun at Biden and his own brain farts. In 2024, Trump openly mocked Biden when he spoke about Biden’s State of the Union address during one of his rallies on his campaign trail. At the time, Trump mimicked Biden with an overly pronounced stutter and referred to him as “crooked Joe.”

“Felon Frump has made SO MANY Gaffes that nothing STUPID that he says now even registers!” someone commented on the X post about Trump’s awkward brain fart. “Every day he says or does something idiotic and that has become the norm for him. When will America finally say ENOUGH?”
Others don’t even understand what the point of Trump’s criticisms of Biden are after the election. It might have made a small bit of sense for Trump to critique Biden when they were opponents in the election, before Biden dropped out and Trump went on to win. For Trump to continue to drop Biden’s name just to poke fun at him makes very little sense to many. It’s especially true if, in doing so, Trump fumbles his words so badly he makes a mockery of himself, according to his critics.
During Trump’s speech when he seemed to mix up the idiom about Biden not being the “sharpest bulb,” he also said Biden was a “grossly unfit president.” According to Trump, the last time Biden was of sound mind was “was a very long time ago.” Unfortunately for Trump, what most remember now about that speech was his own huge mistake in his turn of phrase.
