In August 2025, per USA Today, Donald Trump told reporters he wants to go to heaven. Apparently, it’s his next goal despite his plans for the United States. Not long after he made the comments about heaven, Newsweek reported that Trump sent a fundraising email to supporters asking for donations with a subject line of “I want to try and get to heaven.” Who’s going to tell him that you can’t get into heaven just because you write the biggest check at the pearly gates?
Now, people are making memes about Trump wanting to go to heaven. It’s the natural order of things, really. A politician makes some wild out-of-pocket comments about something that has nothing to do with the actual world at present, and their critics break out the memes, gifs, and everything in between to set them straight.

When Trump originally spoke on Fox & Friends and spoke about wanting to get into heaven, he appeared to be serious. He spoke about wanting to end the Russia and Ukraine war, seemingly in an effort to add to his accolades that might give him some pull in the afterlife.
“I wanna try and get to heaven if possible,” Trump said. “I’m hearing I’m not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole. But if I can get to heaven, this will be one of the reasons.”
In his email that was sent out asking for donations, he referred to his 2024 assassination attempt and road to the White House as proof that he has a bigger purpose.
Naturally, for him, this means he needs a little more help so he can get into heaven.

Those who continue to oppose Trump and his MAGA supporters have made tons of memes and gifs on social media in response to Trump’s comments about heaven. In one post on X (formerly Twitter), someone made a joke about Trump actually going somewhere else entirely, a bit more south, instead of heaven.
Others made jokes about Trump being turned away at the stereotypical pearly white hates that stand at the imagined entrance to heaven. A Christianity Today article wrote about Trump’s desire to go to heaven and wrote to him directly in the article to tell him how he can go to heaven, if he really does want to prove his Christianity and belief in Jesus and God.

According to the outlet, Trump has to “give up that mindset of earning” his place in heaven, and he has to “consider Donald Trump to be the wrong path” for him. In other words, from one Christian to Trump, getting into heaven is not going to be as easy as claiming to stop another country’s war or asking people to give him money to further his cause.
